Sunday I gave Mia a Comfortis pill then on monday she started having some bad runs. Then yesterday she seemed to be doing better but her appetite wasn't up. Then last night she started throwing up and today she's hasn't been able to keep anything down.

So we went to the vet ASAP and she got some meds and a shot and I was told never to use Comfortis on her again. He's pretty baffled since it's usually mild but says just to play it safe.

anyways, I am watching her tonight and hoping she can keep food down. Or else tomorrow when I drop Beau and Rose off, Mia will have to be hospitalized and put on an IV.

So yeah... non hospitalization vibes would be nice as well as vibes for her appetite to come back. In just a few days she's lost a lot of weight and is down under 6 lbs. I'm worried about her, especially because all she's doing really is sleeping.

Aww hunny I hope she gets better quick and you don't need hospitalization :(

There were a lot of stories last summer and fall about dogs taking comfortis and getting sick including seizures and some deaths. I'm not sure why the vet would be that baffled. I try to take stories like that with a grain of salt as you only ever hear the bad ones.. but with a good number of bad ones out there.. he shouldn't be that shocked.

That said I really hope it's nothing and I really don't mean to scare you. Just know that adverse side effects aren't just Mia if that is what this is.. and I hope not.

Yeah I've heard stories about mild vomitting for about a day afterwards but nothing like this or what you're saying. I am pretty convinced it was the comfortis though.

Luckily if I say 'You wanna go feed Scout?' she perks up and runs off. So I think that's a good sign. Also, she just got a drink of her own will, also a good sign. Let's just hope she keeps it down now.

Oh, poor Mia! And poor you. Sending hugs and vibes for both of you. Silly Mia isn't supposed to get sick; she's supposed to bubble and think of extremely creative ways to entertain you/drive you mad.

Feel better, Mia. No-hospital vibes coming your way.
