It's because of Chaz, and forums like this that I actually took my desire to save dogs and did something with it. If I hadn't been here, talked to all who had great dogs from rescue/adoption situations, I'd still be determined on purebreds from breeders, and feeling bad for all the dogs with out homes, but not doing anything about it. I've started my life of rescuing dogs young, and I hope to do it for the rest of my life until I die known as the old crazy dog lady.
Bella, Pure GSD, rescued from a bad home where she was facing mental and physical abuse at the age of 10 months. Came to me on December 2nd 2007, and wont leave me until the day she dies, and will even then be in my heart. This dog is my heart dog.
Psyche, Border Collie X Lab, adopted* from a lady who's family situation changed and she didn't have time for her anymore at the age of 5 or 6 months. Brought her home March 1st 2009, and I plan on keeping her around, too!
Callie, GSD, rescued from an auction where the man who had owned her and used her as a breeding bitch in a puppy mill was trying to get one last dollar from an 8 year old 3 legged dog (she's not actually 3 legged, but uses her fourth leg
verylittle). We brought her home October, I believe, of 2008, planning on re-homing her to a loving family, but she decided our family was that family.
*I didn't know if adopted dogs count. Psyche wasn't a rescue, in my opinion, since she still had a home who was trying to care for her. Bella, however, was a full rescue, if you ask me.
