Sometimes the best way to end a tug session that has gotten out of hand is to drop the rope. Its not always about winning. Sometimes its about ending the game ;)

It's not just THIS thread, either. Not to get way, way, way off topic, but I remember a recent thread asking for opinions on something, which contained the responses hinting at "you didn't do your research so why are you even thinking about this." Even if the posted clearly didn't do any research WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT? Why wouldn't you share helpful links, mention taking a class in research methods, etc? That poster was someone who was clearly not very knowledgeable, but posted a lot of threads asking for help and advice. Now they're gone because people were so rude, and who knows what problems they'll encounter in getting a dog, when they could have learned more here. Getting frustrated with someone for making a common mistake just because the mistake is common isn't fair.
Why should we do all the work for someone? I mean if someone says I am having trouble finding info I am sure people would love to help. Yet if someone posts things that have shown they havent' so much as typed their search term into google... well ya I am going to point out perhaps they should research first.

I find it hilarious that those who get annoyed perhaps even angry or greatly upset by those who are passionate about oops litters do the EXACT same thing to those people.

Its one of those catch 22s. YOu get mad for people getting mad, or you get upset about people being not fair by belittleing and being not fair to them in return. So Dizzy.. you make fun of people by saying they must not have social skills, does that mean since you are doing essentially the same thing you also lack social skills?

You have to admit the people saying "you guys are are horrible and mean" are pretty funny.

(and I think they would be just as annoyed by purebred oopses too)
It is hilarious, I laughed so hard I peed a bit.

Yes Dekka, I am bereft of social skills, that is why I use the internet as my soapbox to preach my way or the highway and get a kick out of making people feel like sh1t.

For the record, I wasn't making fun, I was being serious.

This is a great suggestion!
Thank you, I was afraid that particular post got lost - you know what with all the looking for attacks to counter attack 'n all :D

Yes, I'm patting myself on the back - at my age and weight that dexterity is impressive. I "stole" that idea from another heated thread elsewhere about irresponsible breeding. Those threads tend to get a lot of views - if nothing else, the lurkers are learning something!

FTR, my posts about being rude and belittling were not directed at very many people who are still actively participating in this thread.

Dekka, I don't really understand your argument about it being a Catch-22. I'm not mad about anyone being mad, everyone has a right to their feelings. I'm mad about how frequently long-time posters here chase off new members who could really learn something here.

The microchip thing is a great idea, however microchip info can be changed by new owners, make sure the microchip database company knows that you want certain parts of your information to stay on the chip!

One thing that really bothers me is how there are two different stories about how these puppies were conceived... one on this forum, and then a different story on another.

I also dont think Basic training is a vacation I mean I could be wrong but I dont think you have a choice. Shes trying to make it right and life happens you cant control every aspect of it every time. Hell dogs through SILENT heats and you never know until they are pregnant. You do your best and hope it works and if it doesnt accept responsibility and make it right. From what I can see she is doing that. Shes not dumping them shes not taking away resources from other shelter dogs NOTHING. Shes accepted responsibility for the action and the puppies.
See, from here I was moving on and not referring to this case but all cases in general, meaning I personally cannot go on a vacation while I have two intact dogs.

There will always be crazy, over the top stories of godzilla dogs and their insanity to mate. It's dismissive how easy it is to not have to be a responsible owner in a case as such.

End point of it all? There was absolutely no reason at all those two dogs should have been intact in the first place. I'm thankful they will now be altered, it is the right thing to do.

Actually, its quite the burden, what with Mensa calling and all...
I am considering buying an air pump to create more space in my head and stuffing one of those books with all the answers in it... you know... a wikipedia.

Search a bit and you'll find a MILLION posts arguing there is no need to routinely spay dogs ;)

There's an answer for EVERYTHING on chaz.

Eh, I got lit in to in one of the first threads I jumped in on for a fairly innocuous (IMO) statement. I got my feelers hurt, found a hole to hide and lick my wounds, and then moved on.
Its a collection of HUMANS, even if no one said a word, someone would find a way to take offense or be offensive. Shoot for all you know there are far more people chased off by Dekka's running rainbow dildo. Eh... I mean the llama fairy... yeah, that's it.

I guess it's easy to change your story and switch to a different forum when you don't get the replies you want to begin with  ;)
Depressing isn't it? We have had that a few times on the pit bull forums. "Oh wow is me! This is my rescue I was burdened with after it was abandoned on my front step" .... "Look guys! I bought this new puppy today, ain't it cute??"

All the more funny. And you do get preachy. Though your particular sermon is usually a tirade against people having soap boxes.

And FYI "making fun of" often is done in all seriousness. Bully's make fun of people all the time. But that doesn't make bullying fun and is always serious.

No kidding? Huh... Wish I could say I didn't see that coming, but sometimes the BS smells right through the computer screen....
