Uh yeah Milk is meant for cereal and the left over milk in the bowl should be poured down the drain lol.

I remember in elementary school we always had the choice of white or chocolate milk with our lunch. I wasent a fan but I would drink it. Then one afternoon after eating pizza for lunch one of the little boys projectile vomited pizza chunks and chocolate milk. I started bringing bottled water to school after that lol.

Back on topic

I have been to many different homes with many different races. Honestly most the homes have the same general feel. The food is just different lol. But GOOD.

I mean...my best friend in high school was Japanese (born in Japan) and I went to her house a lot. It was exactly the same as mine. And Zach's best friend's dad is from India, but his mom is white (American)....I've been to their house. And my little brother's best friend as a kid was Vietnamese, I'd been to their house and it was very different but I think they were just weird people, nothing to do with the culture.

Actually....at Ram (Zach's half-indian best friend's)'s Parent's house....they do weirder than milk with dinner (which isn't weird at all for people who like milk). They don't drink. They eat their food with NO beverages. They don't have glasses out, they don't drink anything, and if you ask for a glass of water they look at you like you're nuts. They do give you the water, but they kind of make you feel like a freak for asking for it.

Yes, I've been to the home of people of many different ethnicities. Chinese, Hmong, Vietnamese, African American, Mexican, Brazilian, Filipino, and Bolivian off the top of my head. Growing up, many of my friends were Hispanic and Asian. Other than the fact that many of the parents didn't speak English well, there was no real difference that I noticed as a child.

We were required to drink milk with dinner as kids. No matter what was for dinner, we had to drink one full glass of milk, and then we could have water or juice if we wanted anything more. I thought that was normal? There are some things I just crave milk with--tacos, spaghetti, enchiladas...pretty much anything with any spice to it. I need to get better about drinking it more now. We only go through 1/2 gallon a week between the two of us, but I'd like to see us drinking a whole gallon.

Yes, many, many diverse houses.

I lived in Turkey for awhile as part of a student exchange program and just happened to be there over my birthday. That morning the whole family didn't acknowledge my birthday at all... okay, I was a bit bummed, but figured it's a different culture. Then, after school, my guest parents picked me and my guest sister up from school and we went to the market, had lunch in an awesome place overlooking the Bosporus, and when we went home, the entire extended family was there, with a cake and we all had dinner together. It was the warmest, most heartfelt birthday I ever had and I will never forget it. Sorry, I was just reminiscing in memories :)

I've been in a Scottish home, a Welsh home, an American home, a German home... errrrr...

I wouldn't distinguish by 'black' or 'white'.

Culture varies between family, never mind race - always interesting to go into someone's home, even if it's next door :D

I grew up really good friends with a girl in my hometown, east indian. I loved their home, her mom cooked the best food and it was just, a really warm and happy place to be. Even with her nutty little brother lol. Had a lot of different races for friends, didn't really do alot of going over to their homes though.

and everyone was drinking milk.. with dinner.
I was just kind of like.. um.. what is going on here?! lol
YES! I had the SAME reaction when I first visited Ryan's family in Minnesota. They drink milk with dinner EVERY NIGHT, regardless of what is being eaten. And they drink the leftover milk after the cereal. Weird I tell you.

Other than that I have been to an Italian family's house. SOOO stereotypical, they made the BEST spaghetti and forced me to eat so much I thought I was seriously going to kersplode, then they put more on my plate. Very loud, very animated, I got hugged by people I had never met before and they treated me like I'd lived there forever. It was great.

Whenever I brought anyone home for my parents to meet, my mother's greeting was, "Hi! Nice to meet you. Have you eaten?" followed by a table full of food. I would say, "Well, that's Italians for you," except that my Jewish friends' mothers reacted the exact same way, as did my Jamaican friend's mother. I think it's just a universal momism.

Milk as a beverage is for the young of a species. Once you're past puberty, I can't think why you'd drink it any way but in coffee or cereal. And warm milk? Too disgusting to even consider. Euw!

Nonono, see you don't put milk in your cereal. That's gross. The milk gets all kinds of nasty soggy cereal in it. :(

Sooo... do you put the cereal in one bowl and the milk in a cup or glass? And then spoon some cereal in your mouth... take a sip of milk and so on?

Please tell me because you would be the only other person I know that eats cereal the way I do :D

We're a milk with every meal family, but that's probably because we grew up on a dairy farm and a lot of days all we had to eat was milk, eggs, and whatever we could scrounge from the woods or garden. Throwing the milk out after your cereal is gone is blasphemy! :yikes: That would have earned you a public shaming from us kids. lol.

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure the only other race besides mine (white) house that I've been into was black. I had quite a few black friends in middle and high school and I now dogsit for a sweet black couple. Other than black people and white people, I seriously can't remember a time going into another "type" of home.
