Does craigslist have to approve postings? I made a post but now I can't see it anymore. I want to make sure the post is up there.
Usually there's a delay in the time you make the post, to the time it actually shows up on the page. If you saw it on the page and now it's gone, it was probably flagged or something, but I think you usually get a notice when your post has been flagged.

I would call the non-emergency line for the nearest police the department as well.

When my boss's pug got lost they called all the vets, ACO, etc. I suggested to call the police department. Sure enough about a 1/2 hour before they had picked him off of the road and still had them when he called.

Also call the emergency vets! I know when Sci got out after ACO they were the next we called because they will take strays/ people check there if someone brought them there.

Call everywhere in your area that services dogs. Like vets, shelters, maybe try some grooming places if you think she's groomed. And be prepared for stupid. We held a golden retriever for FIVE days, until the owners decided it would be a good idea to call the humane society

I would post on CLs for neighbouring cities as well, if there IS somebody looking for her, she may have travelled quite a ways to be so dirty. Has there been any storms there, lately, that could have spooked her?

Don't forget to check for a microchip! IF she has decent owners she could be chipped. Most Petsmarts have the machine to check for chips if you don't want to bother with a vet. Cute dog though :)

Awwww! Looks mostly Yorkie to me. What a cutie. I wish I was closer... I would definitely "foster" her, haha. She is sooo adorable.

She is cute but man she's a different kind of dog than I'm used to. :lol-sign: She's nose to the ground and gogogo ALL the time. I don't know if she's stressed because she's in an unfamiliar place but she's definitely got an independent streak I am just not used to. She will come back and check on you and ask for a scratch but she really seems to like to go and explore. But she's pretty gentle. She found a frog this morning and while she did try to grab it, she was fine leaving it alone when we asked. She has a great set of lungs on her... just howls up a storm.

She's very responsive and has already learned to come and is learning not to jump up on people when she's excited. She seems very smart and responsive. Very playful little dog too.

She's kind of disruptive though, she howled all night and the paps are having a fit every time they see her through a window or door. She does not want to be alone. Poor thing. :(

So far I've gotten one reply on my ad but I don't think it's the same dog. The other one's owners have described theirs as a wire fox terrier mix, which I don't think would be the way anyone would describe her. But I asked for pics just in case. I've had people tell me their dogs were all sorts of strange breeds before.

awww. She's ADORABLE!
I want her!!!! But it is not an option.
Especially since her owners might be missing her very much right now.
A lot of folks don't think to check Craigslist for dogs.

She sure is a cutie, though!
Love the scruffy face!!! She's just tooooo cute!!!

I'm really becoming a scruffy terrier mix fan. I've been looking at Border Terriers lately a lot. They are like, the epitome of scruff and I just really want one, lol. Can I come move in with you? I'm getting sick of the parents house, LOL!

Well AC is a little bit less than useless.

I called and they told me basically A) we live outside the jurisdiction and she was found outside their jurisdiction. So basically they won't take her if we can't find an owner. B) The area we found her in is a big dumping ground for dogs because it's near the no kill shelter and people assume they'll take the dog. So basically he told me no one is going to take this dog and didn't take my contact info or anything. I KNOW this could be the case, but I feel bad just assuming no one is looking for this dog and it's not actually an escaped pet of someone's...

He told me to put an ad on craigslist and that was it.

I mean she seems like a pet dog. She knows how to fetch, comes when called, walks well on a leash, loves people and cries when left by herself...

I guess I could call the neighboring town's AC... I am not sure if they'd provide more help or ideas or not.
