A friend gave me a pair of MuttLuks she had used all of once for her dog (lucky for me, MuttLuks are expensive!) and Finn only wears them once in a blue moon.

Today was one of those days. Three days straight of bitter cold was too much for the collie, and even though today is warmer than the past few days, his paws still froze after five minutes. Second time out, I strapped on his boots and got some pics.

They bother him for all of two minutes, then he realizes that his feet are not frozen. MAGICAL.

Happy snowbeast has warm paws.

Enjoy!

I always wonder, how does Finn manager to have so much snow land on him and not melt? He's just stunning as usual!

Finn's feet get cold? I find that such an odd thought... Bandit NEVER gets cold. Even when we roadtripped to Alberta and the weather was god awful. He had nekkid feet the entire time and was no worse for wear. I swear my dog could survive in the artic better than penguins.

I love Finn's facial expressions. I always thought I prefered just plain old black and white but he seriously is making me reconsider Tri's as being my top colour for Border Collies. There is something so special about your boy.

He has magic snowbeast powers. :rofl1: Honestly, I think it's just because the snow sits on top of his fur, so it doesn't come close enough to skin to melt.

yeah, Finn's pawpads get cold VERY quickly if the weather is -25C or lower. He'll start doing the limpy dance, switching feet every now and then. Otherwise, he doesn't notice the cold. Doesn't shiver or anything, no coats required!

And you guys and your compliments give me big smiles. <3 It means a lot to me that you guys see the special guy he is. :)

Totally agree about the specialness to Finn! I always liked blue merles for myself, if I ever were to get a BC, but I totally am hooked on tricolors now. He's just so gorgeous. I love his booties!

Allie, if you write and illustrate a children's book based on the title of this thread and these photos, I WILL BUY IT! That would be the more adorable thing ever.
