I'm so glad he made it OK. He was pretty calm at the airport at this end too. He is a good traveler.

You two look great together!

Ugh, it's morning...lol.
Boris is a great house buddy, though he must have a bit of jet lag because he woke me up at "O-dark-thirty" to take him out to the yard, not sure on specific time, but it wasn't light yet. He hasn't quite figured out the doggy door yet.
Then I got to wake up to not 1, not 2, but 3 dogs and my hubby all on the bed this morning. Good thing I have a king sized bed.

I do see whats Fran meant about the socks, they are obviously a very high value item to him...and trading works but it has to be an extremely high value treat or he's not going for it. So far I've used a piece of bacon, liver treats, and cheese and he will trade for those, but not biscuits or other chewy toys.

I'll get more pictures later on today after I get coffee and show signs of life, oh and make a Walmart trip, we'll try new toys too. Also, pecking order has been established. It's Lacey, Boris, and then Lily. Lacey is still top bitch, but Lily slid a notch and Lacey keeps her there.

Maybe you could leave some socks laying around, but spray them with that bitter apple stuff or something so eventually he associates socks as having a really bad taste. Or maybe you could give him a sock that's "his", and when he has a sock that's not his, then trade him for his sock. Not sure if that would work, just a thought.

I think socks are too high value. He's immediately defensive of the sock, and he'll sit on the couch next to you with the sock and be unhappy because you're in that comfort zone (even though he chose to sit next to you and snuggle the sock?)
It's odd, nothing else seems to be a trigger like a sock is. We tried some stuffed animals and other things and he gives them up, but not the socks. Oh well, we'll let him acclimate to us a bit more then we'll see.

Glad to hear he's settling in. Hopefully he sleeps a bit later tomorrow morning.

Nice that you found things he's willing to trade socks for. :D Maybe you could teach him to do what Morgan does with socks ~ she brings them to the washing machine. ;)
