While he was here he only liked used socks. Preferably mine. He would steal the socks I stuck in my work shoes after work when I got home. But he doesn't chew them, just snuggles them. If he knows you will not take them from him he will let you pet him with sock in mouth.

He liked a toy of Mini's that is a big rope with knots in each end with a cow hoof threaded through it. He definitely wasn't interested in kongs or other rubber toys, but liked the soft toys.

Yeah he wasn't interested in the kong I gave him so one of the girls snatched it. He likes MY socks...not hubby's, not the kids...mine. No biggie though.
He's pretty tolerant, let us clip his nails this morning and such. I'm going to comb him out a bit from where he drooled on the flight last night (was too exhausted when I got home) and he's good as new. :)

I wonder where his sock fetish came from. Oh well, nothing that should be a big rush to work on, I wouldn't think. If socks are comforting to him with all these changes in his life, and he doesn't even destroy the sock, then let him have 'em for now, right?

Ok, now for the rest of the pics...

Hubby, my friend that went with me, and me before we left.

Heavy rain on the way up...worth taking a picture because it wasn't like I could see where I was going very well.

Really pretty scenery on the drive!

Sunset by the airport waiting for him to land!

Being checked out by Lacey this morning.

Hanging out in the shade

Checking out the yard

That's all for now!

Oh it's bittersweet to see pictures of him... but I'm glad he got a good home.

For the sock, he was better when you showed no interest in getting it back... I think he can read us and if he sees it bothers us, he tries to guard it... when we ignored him, he just carried it around and left it eventually.

Give him a big hug for me!

It is odd to me too, seeing him somewhere else instead of curled up in the corner of my sofa next to Mini. He looks good. Enjoy the slobbering sock muncher. In every other way he was a total marshmallow for us. We also just let him keep a sock or two. Once he know we weren't going to try to take it, he wasn't so guardy about it.

I've noticed that, but he also picks "bad" places to stash his socks...and gets a bit pissy because he's in the middle of the floor and doesn't want you near them. I coaxed him away with a kong filled with peanut butter and traded them out...he still wanted the socks, but he wanted that kong more. We also played some trading games with wooden spoons covered in PB. :)

You'll work it out ......remember that he must be confused as to the last few weeks . When I got Chip he went from a loving home with kids and dumped on a farm as an outside dog . Luckily she contacted me for Golden rescue .... he was mine from that day on !

Exactly, I don't expect too much from him, but we have stashed all the socks up to avoid him being "in the way" when he's being moody. Safety for all those involved including the crawling baby.

He's been collecting socks all day so I am pretty confident I've found the matchers to all the missing socks for the past 3 months :rofl1:

Went for a walk to finish out our day. Boris is pretty "bomb proof" and nothing spooks him, not even fireworks. So he and Lacey make a great walking team, he also leads very nicely. :)
So, day 1 and he's doing well. :)

Bomb proof is an excellent description. He is playful and fun, but definitely not high strung. I am glad everything is going well. He was here a week, and other than the sock stealing (Note-he teals underwear too) he was fine.

When my daughter and her boyfriend were on their way up from PA, they called and said they were almost here....and we discovered that Boris was sitting on the sofa with a pair of my underwear he had gotten out of the dirty clothes. We frantically tried to distract him to get it away. Got it in the nick of time.

Somehow the prospect of greeting mike with my undies hanging out of Boris' mouth didn't seem appealing!

Tallulah also loves socks, lol. I can take anything away from her, though, and the worst she will do is evasive maneuvers.

The way I solved it with her is I gave her an odd sock with a knot tied in the middle. We play tug with it, and she knows that HER socks will have a knot in them. MY socks don't, so now she leaves my socks alone, and in the odd event that she snatches one of mine, I can tell her, "that's mine, where's YOUR sock" and she drops mine and goes and finds where she left hers.
