My sport bred BC was $800, so I am thinking the performance and working are similarly priced Jen :)

My breed is going for anywhere between $25 and $200. Rescues are usually at the high end, for the cost of vet care. Sometimes you can slap a cute and funny name on them and then they go for up to $1500! Mutts are such a rarity these days.

last time i was in TX you could get good hard working heelers $100-200 (no papers but they'd out work half a dozen AKC dogs and slap them silly w/ the papers). my dad's new wife has one like that and he's fairly dangerous to any one acting silly around her. he's a lot of dog and would be a danger to the world in the hands of most of the idiots that own "pit bulls." the only reason he's not is because she's a hard@$$ and they are careful. OTH they can eat out and leave him in the truck w/ the engine running and it'll be there when they get done.

Oh okay, cool :) I just didn't know, since I've heard that performance dogs in the states like a BC can go for alot more than my lil' working bred dog. Lol

With Aussies, anywhere from $700-$1000 depending on region, breeder and lines. The pup I want is going to be around $1000.

Filas, no idea.

Rotties seem to be between $1000-$2000 depending on lines and show/pet quality.

$1000 to $2000 for a well-bred GSD puppy...depending on lines, possibly a bit more. If you're lucky and can kiss some butt, less than $1000. It all depends.

Is it okay to say that the working bred dogs are less expensive than show bred?

$1000-$2500 field or show

Bailey was $700 9 years ago I think

Many people will give you a "discount" if you know them. They just want the puppies a good home.

There is a breeder here that is decent (not the best but decent) that'll sell you a pup for $750. So I guess I should say $750-$2400 for a pap puppy. I also know some people will sell mismarks for less so if you're not totally set on the 'right' markings you can get one for a bit less. The most I know of a papillon going for was $30,000 for one of the top JKC Ch show bitches.

Then as you get to know people we've gotten several of our dogs fairly cheap. Trey was sport/show bred on one of the top sires in his breed's history and was a whopping $400 for us since we knew his breeder so well.

Do those come with or without the tail? :)

I would expect to pay anywhere from $400-$900 for a pet quality ACD.

I'd say $800+ for show/working/performance.

Depending on how long you have been in the breed, who you know, what you plan to do with the dog you will probably pay less. My experience has been like Miakoda's, the more you can do with the dog, the less you will usually pay. I would be willing to pay good money for the right dog though. :)

For a good working Siberian Husky $500 is usally average but as with other breeds, depending who you know and if you are involved in sledding you can aquire a fantastic dog for nothing more than maybe being able to use it in future breedings.

Maybe that's why I love the APBT world.....you get involved, you get to know people, you prove you are worthy of owning such a great dog, you form friendships and bonds, and then some people will give you a dog. I'm such a person. I don't breed to make any money. I breed (haven't had a litter since 2004 and we kept most of the pups from all 3 litters) to put the best dogs out there and to work them. Thus if I can find someone who is responsible and an asset to the breed, I love putting one of my dogs into their hands to see where they can take that dog. However, I still breed first and foremost for myself....I won't ever ever ever breed just to get rid of an entire litter.
Exactly how I feel :)

I have no idea how much Fila pups are going for now. I know when I got Kharma Judy was charging around $1200, but did not charge me nearly that much as she wanted Kharma in my hands.

For a puppy, $330, for a dog over 6 months, $275.
Rescue dogs are great :)
The question was actually asking how much a well bred, health tested dog of your breed would cost ;)

Chihuahuas are anywhere from $600-1500 in my area. Tucker's sister went to a show home and was considerably higher priced than he was.
