I'm sure some people will disagree with the decision, but people are free to have their own opinions. I'm only posting this here to squash any rumors or behind-the-back-talking that may occur when I eventually get my signature updated.
Ada has been rehomed to my in-laws. She has always been a little "off" when it comes to interacting with other dogs, but recently her inappropriate behavior has escalated into something much, much worse. Realistically, we had two decisions - let the inlaws have her, or put her to sleep.
To make a very long story short, she starts fights with every dog in the house. She has attacked Revy while Revy was asleep. Kaylee's got more than half a dozen wounds on her face right now, all because Kaylee was in a dog bed that Ada wanted for herself.
And it's not just to dogs - Ada's aggression issues have crossed over to humans - or at least to me. I've had a few very scary episodes of Ada trying her damndest to do to me what she does to the other dogs... all over seemingly simple things like moving my chair while she's under my desk, or closing a door that she'd rather have open.
Ada's behavior was beginning to have a drastically negative effect on the behavior of the other dogs... especially when two of them aren't the forgiving type.
She has been seen by a vet, and there's nothing wrong with her, medically, to cause this.
She's a completely different dog with my inlaws though - they were the ones that had her for the first year of her life. After her latest rampage (against Kaylee) we sent her to their house to "cool off" for a few weeks.
Today they asked if they could keep her. We told them they could.
Please, no flames.
