Sometimes one has to make decisions that are best for those involved...

...Ada is happy, you are happy, everyone is safe. It's a win in a sad situation. No one can fault you for this.

What a difficult decision to make. Whoever flames you needs to walk in your shoes before they pass judgement. I'm glad you made the decision that benefited all of the dogs in your care. :)

She's a completely different dog with my inlaws though - they were the ones that had her for the first year of her life. After her latest rampage (against Kaylee) we sent her to their house to "cool off" for a few weeks.

Today they asked if they could keep her. We told them they could.
Sounds ideal, to me!

No flames here. :) You did good.

Yep, definitely sounds like it's for the best for everyone involved. I don't envy the decision though but you did the best you could.
This.

I was wondering whether her aggro issues had gotten worse, honestly. I'm glad she has a place to go and I think your household will be much happier without her (as awful as it seems to say :()

You'll get no flames for me either. It took me forever after I rehomed Goober to even mention it all to people other than a select few because I didn't want to get flame. I had good reasons for rehoming him and I was sad to see him go. We aren't in your shoes or your home so IMO none of us should judge you for a decision that you felt was best for your family. I hope we'll still get pics of Ada whenever you get a chance to visit inlaws though. :)

It sounds like you did what was best! For everyone involved. I would never judge that.
This. When I saw your signature my heart dropped - I'm glad it's this, and not something else.

(((Hug))) I know this decision couldn't have been easy on you. Especially so soon after Ronin.

Sounds like you made the best decision for Ada... Now, can you get your inlaws to become Chazzers? :)

As others have said, sometimes being the best dog owner you can be means doing what is best for them (and your other dogs) even if it's hard. This sounds like it was the best decision for everyone. This way you an still visit too.

Being responsible for a dog doesn't mean keep in in YOUR house come hell or high water to me. You're keeping her, yourself, and your other dogs happy, healthy, safe, and well cared for. This is a non-flammable decision as far as I'm concerned.

How horrible! You took a dog out of an environment, that it seemed like she was uncomfortable in, and put her someplace where she is happy. How could you? :)

Just in case I didn't make it clear, you did what was best for your family and Ada. No flaming from me.

It sounds to me like you made the best decision for you, Ada, your other dogs, and the in-laws. Win all around. {{Hugs}}

I made a similar decision with Milo (although the decision was to leave him with my parents when I moved out), for similar reasons.

I hope you all adjust easily...it sounds like Ada already has.

sounds like it was a well thought out and reasonable decision--if it's what best for everyone, then it's in Ada's best interest.

Having seen how Ada reacts to the other dogs, firsthand, you totally did the right thing.
Exactly - I was hoping you'd chime in. I'm glad someone other than my husband and myself has seen Ada's interactions with other dogs - it's not pretty.

Thanks for your support everyone. I was honestly expecting to be flamed for this... I'm glad I was mistaken. :)

I think you made a really mature decision, I wish we had had an option like that for Harry in the early days, sadly though his issues with the other dogs were alkso issues with anyone other than us so it wasn't an option.

If she's happier, more relaxed, you are to and your inlaws love her it sounds like a much better situation.

(((hugs))) I think you did the best thing for Ada. I know it's not easy to have a dog who hates your other dogs. Before I joined Chaz, in the Before Benji time, my family had a dog who after living with us for three months decided she wanted to kill, and I mean kill Daisy. It wasn't fair for Daisy to live in her own home in fear, and it wasn't fair for the other dog to be so upset all the time that she felt the need to attack Daisy for (to us it seemed) no provocation. That dog went to a rescue who found her a good home.

Heck, I moved into an apartment with friends where I'm happy, and left Daisy with my parents where she is happiest. Looking out for your dog's happiness doesn't always mean keeping them with you.
