Oh god Sizzle. I am so sorry. Ilsa truly has been an ambassador for her breed. I used to think Dobermans were ugly dogs. Ilsa and Ronin were the dogs that first changed my mind. Now, I'm even contemplating allowing Steven to have one in the distant future. I know nothing will replace Ilsa in your head or your heart, but know that we are here for you, and no one you love ever truly dies.

HEAVEN'S DOGGY-DOOR
My best friend closed his eyes last
night, As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through
my head, As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH...his many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends,
HE's installed a 'doggy-door"!

THE DOGS WHO HAVE SHARED OUR LIVES
The dogs who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think
we hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometime, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them...
and always will.

omigosh... I wish there was something I could say to help, but I can't think of anything ... I don't think there are words to describe how special of a dog, and how much she'll be missed! I am so sorry, I am crying as I type this, I can only imagine how you must feel

Perla ... those were lovely . Thank heavens Sizzle won't be without dog bowls ! When I lost Chip it was the first time I was dogless ! That's why Ollie found me so quickly . The only time I will be without bowls is when I'm gone and any dog ...their bed and bowl have been moved on to someone who loves them .
