For what it's worth Lacey has had 2 false pregs out of 3 heats so far. She didn't gain much weight if any, but she did nest and had some "milk" (it was clear). Her breasts didn't get mastitis or anything, just noticed she had slight "bags" and I checked for milk.

The first couple pics make it look like she may have mastitis but it could just be the angle.... check her breasts for milk, redness, ect.

For it to go down that fast.... well it shouldn't go down at all LOL until pups are born, if preg.

It STILL could be false, I sure hope so for your sake and sanity!!!!

I just met Backups mom last night, she's in town with her owner on vacation and going through a false pregnancy. You'd be amazed and shocked, she's super fat in the stomach, big milk filled nipples and nesting.

Here's hoping that's all Ada is going through as well. :::fingers crossed:::::

Interested to see what you find out. Looking at the pictures, man, she looks like she's got some puppies in there. :(
This! I showed Ian the pictures as well, and his vote goes towards Ada being pregnant as well.

Good luck today! I'm anxious to know what the vet sees.

Well, for those following we are pregnant. Ah well, kind of figures.

Took her in and weighed her first thing and she's gained almost 2 lbs in 16 days. Took her back and the vet couldn't feel them so he offered an ultrasound. She appears to have been bred sometime around the time we found her so April 17ish. Probably the day we found her or the day before. The litter seems decent sized- at least 6.

Sooo... talked it all over and set up her spay/abort on Wednesday. There is a bigger risk doing this on her but with all the information and talking to the vet I think it's the best we can do. There's just a lot of risks either way. Carrying to term would mean a lot more dogs to find homes for of who knows what mix. We don't know what bred her and she's small plus having a litter will be very hard on her. And there's a chance the HW meds could harm the pups. So it's an abort. As the vet put it, it's unfortunate but necessary.

Poor girl needs a break!

Thanks! We will definitely need vibes that everything goes well on wednesday. I trust my vet's judgement so I think it's the right thing. I can't help but worry about putting her under and through all of it though.

Bah :( We will keep Ada on our mind on Wednesday. I hope that you were able to raise atleast most of the funds with the Art for Ada!
A really nice lady on another forum ended up donating a lot straight to my vet through her rescue. I am so so so grateful to her, it's covered a ton of Ada's medical expenses and I still have a little credit to put towards the spay.

I haven't had as much time to do the art as I had hoped due to some other family stuff that happened these past two weekends (long story) but I'm going to be arting out all day today and tomorrow. If anyone wants to go ahead and send the donation over before the spay on weds, that would be appreciated. I will make sure yours are done asap.

Boo! I was hoping that you'd find out she wasn't pregnant.

I'll definitely keep her in my thoughts on Wednesday for an easy spay!
