We found out and I'm glad we did. I agree with Fran, a surprise is a surprise is a surprise... Doesn't matter to me when.

That doesn't mean that we bought all boy stuff... a lot of it is neutral... But you have more options. And if Finley would have come out a girl, that would have also been okay :)
 
Our plan is to find out but not tell anyone because we don't want lots of gendered gear (especially if it's a girl - I HATE the color pink).
 
Didn't find out. It's one of my all time favourite memories as I wanted the other half to tell me the baby's gender. He got to tell me she was a girl and it was a lovely moment. Plus he got to say I told you so as he was sure she was a girl all along.

As for baby clothes etc.... You can buy them after the baby is born! Wouldn't find out next time either I don't think.
 
We found out (not by choice really) and I would absolutely do it again. After we found out Matt and I both were better able to bond.
 
Back to cravings:

And currently, tomato and cucumber sandwiches. I can't sleep because we don't have cucumbers. Send help.
 
The one thing I am slightly worried about is changing our friend group dynamic. Tyler and I are the first ones in our group to TTC, which will be a huge change. And our group is very, very close. We hang out at least one or twice a week. We are more of a family then anything because we all moved away from home and have no family near by.

Ha ha It will be a huge adjustment for them. Hopefully they will not mind a baby being around all the time- God please give me an easy baby.

Also, I picked up the book Gentle birth, gentle mothering bu Sarah J Buckley MD. Hopefully its a gooder.

I have the same situation, with two other couples. We've been best friends for years and when we finished college, we all moved into the same apartment complex, all in a row. We're absolutely a family. One couple in our group started TTC last month and if anything, it has brought us even closer. We're always saying "I could totally play this game while holding your baby!" or "we can do this with a baby here!" That baby is just going to be another member of our group. I can't wait for them to get pregnant- we're going to be an excellent support system, too. : ) I wish the same thing for your groups!

:D 5 weeks yesterday. Feeling pretty awesome still, haven't told many people irl because it's so early. DH and I are going to wait to tell his folks and the wide world until 9 weeks, after the first appointment to confirm viability, etc.

If all goes as planned, I'm due December 1st.

AWWW yay I know you've been excited for this a long time! Our babies will be the same age, I'm 5 weeks ahead of you!!
