Chaz Moms and Moms-to-Be Chat (everyone welcome)

Hey Jude - awesome update! So glad to hear things are doing well, even if they're busy and crazy and such. It sounds like you've got quite a full plate right now, but it's all good stuff. :)

I had an infantino, a moby wrap I made, a moby knock off I forget the name of, and a cheap version of a ring sling (7 sling). I used them all quite a bit and will probably invest in better carriers (ergo maybe, Maya probably or make my own ring sling) for #2.

The language explosion is my favorite <3 Lillian now speaks in full sentences (sometimes) and tells little stories and is learning words to songs and it's the most hilarious and entertaining thing. Today she told me her blue toothbrush "looks like the ocean" and I was like "oh my gosh you tiny brilliant person it does and that is such a creative observation".

To which of course responded: "OCEAN YAYYYY NEED WAH WAH FOR TEETHHH" and sprinted away

So this is kind of random, but has anyone found any of the 'old wives tales' about gender prediction accurate? I've looked at stuff online and with the info I have this early, it's pretty split. Really sore breasts and acne early = girl, chinese gender prediction chart = split, lack of nausea = boy. This is all just for amusement purposes, but I figured I'd see if it rang true for anyone.

A lot of people find them true....about 50% of people lol because they're 50% accurate.

The only one supported by science is that a lack of nausea can mean a boy. Not always, it's just more likely. I had horrific nausea and a girl, and I think this one is a girl although I'm terribly sensitive to hormones and throw up violently from BC so it could be that. I know backwards_cinderella had horrible nausea and two girls as well, and my mom had terrible morning sickness with me and none with my brother.

Another accurate prediction, though not gender: women who have terrible heartburn in the 3rd trimester usually have babies with a full head of hair.

Absolute nonsense. But will always use them to guess anyway lol.

What pattern? I've heard such good things about their SSCs.

Although I am reserving the right to trade/buy another one. I love twisted leaves and the owls...but Horizon's Verge is my FAVORITE. DH likes that one too. :)

Clarissa turned two in February.

That is crazy, I can't even believe it!

I am planning to post on FB (and I could here) the pic of the ultrasound I got today (29weeks2days) and a side shot of me. Lots of people say how you carry and how you gain can also show gender...We aren't finding out and today was the last ultrasound so we really won't know until the big day :D

I've never had heartburn in my life until I got pregnant. It's so intense and horrible. I hope it goes away after the baby is born. I feel like I'm having a heart attack!

I don't remember them specifically, because I don't really care much about that type of stuff, but almost every "gender predictor" my wife and her friends and sisters did said our little boy was going to be a girl :) I think one said boy, but I don't remember which one. I just remember my wife coming home and telling me that another "fill in the blank" meant we were having a girl.

They're fun I guess, to add suspense, make a guess, see who's right? Nothing beats when they finally get here though :)

How you carry has definitely been disproven (it has to do with body shape and where the placenta attaches and stuff) but I think there is some evidence something with the pelvic bone's angle to the body in early sonos could be accurate, I'm not really sure how true that is.

Totally almost puked 4 times today...must've jinxed myself. Or it could have been that eating a giant gyro and fries and hiking 5+ miles on the hottest day of the year so far was a bad idea. ;) I really hope it was that combo and not the embryo making itself known...

Weeks 6-10 were the worst for me. I never actually threw up though. Not sure if that made it worse or not! Eating helped but the only things I could stomach were fruit and really salty stuff. Lol.

I started puking at like 7 weeks, maybe 6, and now I'm at 12 and still puking multiple times a day with zofran. with lillian I was still puking by New Years and I was like 16 or 17 weeks then :( and then a handful of random one-time vomiting episodes throughout the rest, mainly if I ate tomato sauce.

Any suggestions on introducing the idea of a sibling/explaining pregnancy to a young child. How far along were moms of multiples when they told their LOs?

Ew, that combo made me gag a little just now LOL

29 weeks 2 days ultrasound and bump pic...I feel like a hot, sweaty blimp (record setting high for GA today - 85 degrees)

I feel better now - just got home from 2 hours of nose work with Aeri with no issue! Fingers crossed it was just my bad food decision. ;) I may have also said I'd donate a placenta to the local SAR team "when I have a baby" (allllmost slipped in the wrong tense there lol). LOL

Falon, you may feel like a blimp, but you're looking great! A tip one of my online mom groups mentioned: frogg togg cooling towels. They use them for between baby and mom while wearing, but I bet they'd rock for you in general (on your neck maybe?).

Love the 4d ultrasound pic! Not sure if we'll do one, but yours is great. So many look like creepy aliens. lol

Ha, the first HRD hide I used was a placenta donated to my team, I kept it in my freezer :)

Thank you! :) DH keeps insisting that I look fine but I feel so awkward and nothing fits etc etc etc LOL Great tip, I will definitely be ordering some! Baby due end of June = VERY hot July-Sept!

The 4d wasn't an option, it was just what he did. We didn't have to pay more or ask for it or anything. We got one at our last ultrasound too. Weird huh? The same equipment was used, he switched back and forth between 2D (?) and 4D and then printed it off right there.

Dizzy, Ivy is adorable. She looks like such a happy baby.

I did such a stupid think. I bought a "trying to get pregnant book" and it had this huge section on infertility. I skimmed through it and scared the living daylights out of me. And now I'm all peranoid, which I shouldn't be. I have no reasons to be.

I did something similar to myself, which is why I started charting. Charting is one of the reasons this baby happened so quickly, I'm sure, since the first cycle I missed ovulation by like a week. LOL

I'm currently spazzing about miscarriage risks. :P

I've decided to stop bc after this pack so like in a week I'm done and start charting and temp taking. Just so I have a better idea when I'm ovulating. And so I get a hang of charting and know when my body's doing it's thing. Hopefully it bounces back fast offer being on BC for a year.

I think if it's not one thing it's another.
