I would like to dispel this notion that long hair = tons of shedding. Hank has been the worst shedder I have ever had as an adult. My childhood GSDx was also very bad.

Hank's hair is spiky and it seems to constantly be falling out. I have about 30-40 Hank hairs on my clothes for every Mia or Summer hair. They're also thicker and spikier and stick to EVERYTHING.

It's pretty terrible. ;)

Siberian Husky, without a doubt.

The Border Collies have like a WEEK when they drop all of their hair. But Zander is like that 24/7/365. I vacuum daily and still find Zander hair tumbleweeds. I have a paranoid protocol I go through when I have to wear business casual. Vacuum everything, remove Zander from the room, don't lay the clothes down on ANYTHING, lay down clear hair-free towels when I put my pants on, etc. And I STILL HAVE TO USE A ROLLER.

The mastiffs weren't bad, Gustav the GSD/Sibe wasn't as bad, I've met Malamutes not nearly as bad. GSDs, Leonburgers, OES, Basenji...nope. Corgi's are up there, though.

Bali, my dalmatian. Not only did she shed everywhere the hairs were impossible to get out of fabric and carpet.

Although I've never had one, my aunt's GSD sheds so much CONSTANTLY. Like... big clumps that go everywhere so it's almost difficult to pet her. Granted, I don't think they brush her often so it might seem like it's more of a problem than it is but dang. I'm coated whenever I visit her.

Luckily, Hugo doesn't shed horribly. I only have to vacuum every 3 days and his fur isn't noticeably on anything except the rug he likes to sleep on.

I've only had two dogs so far (well, three if you count Charcole but my parents got rid of him when I was under 10 so I really don't remember much about him), and Buddy the Beagle mix definitely kicks Roxie's butt!

Buddy could out-shed a dog twice her size. I'd brush her every other day and get a mountain of fur. She had Lab length fur, and was actually the reason I was a bit more hellbent on getting a dog like Roxie, who's fur is short and tight, not wafting all over the place and leaving little black furs and little tan furs every.frickin.where.

Abrams. It's just the way his coat is! My Labs and Malamute I had growing up shed, but I could brush and blow them out enough to keep it less. Cynder, too. But Abrams - his hair just always is shedding! Always! It's so bad!

My uncles Husky that I lived with for a year shed a TON. Like, all the time. He did start getting her professionally groomed which helped a bit, but by the time she was like 13 and very arthritic, she couldn't handle standing for long periods so they did just shave her. I know they say that's so wrong but it actually cut down on the shedding a lot and was happier for her.

My childhood dogs, Golden Retriever and GSD shed a TON. I got so accustomed to going to school with dog hairs all over me. The GSD was probably a bit worse.

It's so funny though my dads JRT/shihtzu mix (she's mostly wire-ish hair though) sheds sooo much more than their Dachshund/spaniel mix with long hair and you would never think that would be. But she's still not nearly as bad to live with as the Golden, GSD or Husky. The tiny prickly hairs can be annoying though.

This photo is in order from least amount of shedding (or no shedding, really) to most. lol. Buddy in the middle hardly sheds at all, even in the bath, you hardly see any black hairs. Lilly on the far right is the worst.

The GSD/ACD mix, insane and while the Lab is shedding a boatload right now he's got nothing on the little nutter, the BC/Husky barely sheds. And to make it that much worse he's not only the biggest shedder (and smallest dog in the house) but his hair weaves into everything making it horrible to remove and he's a stress shedder.

Well considering that the other competitors were Medley (a Bedlington, so basically zero shedding) and Gusto (who has hardly any undercoat), Meg's a pretty clear front runner.

She really does have a ton of undercoat that isn't obvious just from visual examination.

Deputy sheds enough to create a whole new dog.

My old lab mix, Chevy, used to leave chocolate dust bunnies around the house.

Cajun and Juno are both pretty awful. Not sure who is worst - Cajun before a heat cycle is dreadful though!!

Fable doesn't shed a ton, but her hair does stick to everything. The worst shedders I have ever met are my aunt's two golden retriever/Bernese mountain dog mixes. They each weigh around 110 pounds which makes the amount of hair much worse, but they are just constantly shedding. Their hair is also pretty lightweight, so it floats around and gets in the food and other places where it shouldn't be. Knowing those two dogs makes me appreciate Fable's fur much more.:p

Beners! Ugh. Black hair, everywhere, always. Worse than the Samoyed, FAR worse than the Toller and the Aussie mutt. I suppose with daily brushing it wouldn't be so bad, but ehhhhh. So much shedding.

Norris! My house is covered in dog hair, even right after I've vacuumed! I never knew one dog could shed this much! I should brush him more, but I brush him well when I do. He's just this constant shedder of individual hairs.

I didn't even think of bassets but my good friend had one when she was younger and she shed EVERYWHERE. They didn't allow her upstairs (it had a door that was always shut) and somehow just with them walking up and down the upstairs was also covered in her fur. So crazy.
