Scarves, hobbies, house repairs? The thread about which scarf to choose caused me to think about how different we all are in what we will spend money on. Those scarves were beautiful but sooooo pricey. (to me) I'd never spend that much money on something like that. And yet, I'm spending way, way over what I planned on this landscaping project I've been working on all summer. I'm so over budget, I could have put hardwood floor all over my main level or if it needed it, I could have renovated an entire kitchen and all my bathrooms, crown molding could have been put all over. I could have bought a new car. Holy cow!
So, I'll spend money on my house or yard. My yard is to be an extension of my living space and a sort of sanctuary...a zen place. lol. I'm very affected by my environment. It has so much to do with how I feel...my moods, connections. (I sound like a hippy) I'll go for certain hobbies and put a fair amount into what I like to do. My art work, my education. I'll be somewhat frugal with things like groceries, but I don't say "no" to much as long as it's healthy and quality. I have fun buying things for my kids or helping them out when desperate... when I can. I'll go to the ends of the earth for my dogs if they require special care...when practical or helpful. But clothes aren't one of my big interests. I do what I have to do to not look like a ragamuffin. LOL. And even once in a while, I will splurge a little...like when I lost weight. But still...very conservative and pretty cautious about my money going out for that sort of thing. Where shoes are concerned, I do spend quite a bit because I have trouble with my feet a little bit. So, not so many pairs of shoes, but good ones.
So, what interests do have where you tend to spend quite a bit of your money and what kinds of things do you hold back on or be careful about. (Or is this a rude kind of question?)
