Shrimp, crabs and lobsters are creepy. If you saw something like that crawling through your house you'd be beating it to death with a broom, not eating it for dinner.
This made me Laugh out loud!!! :rofl1::rofl1:

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my lobster, and don't plan to give them up, but do have to wonder how desperate the first person to try one was...

Kids are priceless on this one, when my brother was little he refused to eat them.. NO WAY was he eating "Big Bugs" :lol-sign:

Now he is a diesel mechanic and runs a Trucking company that's main cargo is Lobster :)

Judging by this thread that means there are a few atheists on this forum?
To answer your question, we have all kinds here. From the militant atheists to the deeply religious. And just about everything in between. Not to mention representatives of a wide range of sects, denominations, persuasions, and personal interpretations.

Just wait until a religion thread pops up.

You know, its interesting that many of these unpopular opinions are either 1) widely held, if not often stated or 2) very common (50%+) but highly controversial with those who don't hold them. I really don't think I've seen many that are the sort of thing one doesn't mention in polite company . . though perhaps not in politically mixed company.

I guess my unpopular opinions are:

Our "security theater state" is a joke and a massive threat to our freedoms

The drug war is a mistake. A horrible, expensive, and bloody mistake. Which is also destroying our freedoms.

The American criminal justice system is broken.

I'm sure I can come up with more . . . I tend to state them frequently.

I don't like our president... And no it has nothing to do with his skin color

I can't stand the short bootie shorts I see girls wearing all the time nowadays. It's like the shorter the better and personally I find it distasteful and slutty.

I don't like people that don't allow others to have their own opinions. Ok so I don't agree with you on something... Big whoop... It's really not something to get your panties all twisted over just because you can't convince me to share your opinion.
All things listed, I agree with :)

lol well, I'm one.

..and I just really wanted to use that gif up there
But Orange is an ugly colour!

:rofl1:

I'm just joshing.

I voice my opinions on things I'm passionate about. Ask any of my co-workers what happens when someone brings up Cesar Milan or pro-BSL around me. My boss has asked me to tone it down. :rofl1:

I have lots of little angry opinions much like Fran posted (I agree with most of yours, Fran - and toe shoes ARE atrocious, but function over fashion for me!) but I usually don't think to share them - they're just thoughts in my head throughout my day.

Sweet!

(My little cousins were born & raised in London, and they think salty popcorn is "yucky!" lol)

Gay marriage should be legal EVERYWHERE. the fact that it isn't BAFFLES me.

Those toe shoes are atrocious and may even be worse looking than crocs.
Agreed but I have them anyway and I love them. I just use them for hiking, not in public :p

X--I don't see the point in keeping snakes/most other reptiles as "pets". Do they even like people?..--X

People under financial stress should not be trying to have children. That's just selfish.

I think less of people who don't like to read.

I think Chris Brown should be ASHAMED and The fact that he still has fans (especially female ones) and a career after what he did honestly disgusts me.

I don't see the point of organized religion.

I think people who say things like " (INSERT CELEBRITY/ARTIST/MUSICIAN) SAVED MY LIFE/IS MY LIFE" should see a therapist.

I think people who post cutesy personal details (gifts they were given, things they said, things they do together) of their relationships on face book constantly are over compensating for their unhappy relationship/cheapening their relationship by sharing it with everyone.

I don't really care about other people playing sports.

I think smokers should only be allowed to smoke is specific far away from everybody else places. I think them killing themselves is STUPID but they shouldn't have to drag the rest of us with them by blowing their smoke everywhere for us to breathe in

I like Obama, and think, given the circumstances, he is doing a good job.

STOP SPRAY TANNING! YOU LOOK LIKE A CHEETOH! STOP IT!

I don't like this pope. He seems mean.

I lose nearly all respect for people who drunk drive. The fact that they think saving money on a cab is seriously more important that the lives of people around their drunk self is dispicable.

I think any adult whose favorite book is twilight needs to read more. immediately.

Long acrylic nails are gross.

Apple > Pc. always. forever.

I don't agree with letting athletes who otherwise wouldn't get into the university in, just to play sports.

Regardless of if Micheal Jackson was a pedophile or not.. I think any parent who let their CHILD take the chance and sleep over/ go to a grown mans wonderland zoo home by themselves is CRAZY IN THE HEAD.

People with huge hands shouldn't be dentists.

Orange is an ugly color.

Carpets are gross.
Agree with the above, except for a few mods (in red, the X's are scratch-outs)
But agreeing with Fran is hardly an unpopular opinion :p so...

Professional sports should be, in almost every case, eliminated. A massive waste of money and potentially useful lives. Doing sports (anything from yoga to backyard football...whatever the person finds fulfilling) on the other hand should be highly encouraged, never deified.

Hollywood should also be almost entirely eliminated. At least in the hero-worshiped sense. Also, all TV besides proper journalism and documentaries backed by, you know, actual science.

Math is important and everyone capable should learn to use at least basic arithmetic and geometry.

High heels are torture devices and anyone who wears them claiming they are doing it for themselves is delusional.

Yes I have my hate on tonight :p Apparently I need dinner ASAP

Country is the best music ever (I know a lot of people disagree)
Omg, when I was in the car with you and Josh on the day we went to the cancelled dog show, I wanted to stab myself in the ears. :yikes: lol

To the topic of the thread, it seems to be an unpopular opinion to think that kill shelters are killing for space simply because they don't care enough to make a change from the old "catch and kill" philosophy. (I know that some people here work in municipal facilities and do their best, they aren't who I am talking about.) This opinion is getting more popular all the time though, as more and more cases are coming to light of shelters who are apathetic or even outright cruel to the animals in their "care".

One unpopular opinion I have among rescue people (besides the myriad of others that are also held by most people on this board about feeding raw, limited vaccs etc) is that not every dog will be happy in a pet home! They want to home all these dogs to a place where they will be couch dogs. Not all dogs will be happy with that! Work is not a bad thing!

A lot of people that scream how unjudgemental they are, are some of the most judgemental people I know...

I don't really keep my unpopular opinions to myself. I don't go out of my way to hurt someone, and I will occasionally bite my tongue to spare feelings. But for the most part, I don't hide who I am. I am surly and opinionated, and I think most people are idiots. Take it or leave it. I don't really care.

well I don't know if there are any I keep secret purposely. I am a pretty open book... but I'll share anyway lol

I am Christian... I don't CARE what you practice. it doesn't bother me but PLEASE don't sit there and tell me that I can't practice my faith because it "offends" you. I will not push my faith on you but if I pray and you see it or hear it... get over it. The outrage over Tim Tebow comes to mind. GET OVER IT. you don't have to like it but you might as well accept it.

I am ALL for homeschooling if you have the dedication and ability to do so. homeschooled kids are NOT socially inept idiots who can't function in the real world... in fact I believe more public schooled kids suffer from this than properly homeschooled children with dedicated parents.

I don't think rehoming a pet is the worst thing in the world. Why do we want pets to stay in a home where they aren't wanted or don't fit? I honestly don't understand this idea. I am not for getting a pet, rehoming, getting a pet, rehoming etc over and over but I really don't think rehoming a pet is the worst thing

I don't think pets and children are interchangeable. I see it all the time... the little blurb about "I'm rehoming the kids because they dont' get along with the dog." I love my dogs, they are LIKE my children BUT they are NOT my child. It's not interchangeable.

The quote "no one can make you feel inferior without your consent" is the most overused quote on the planet and I think it makes light of peoples feelings. I am so sick of hearing it as an excuse to be a jerk off.

I believe you should be able to make as much money as you want... legally and you should not be FORCED to give it away because people are upset you make more than they do.

children are not the center of the universe. I love Hannah with every fiber of my soul... BUT my happiness matters too.

This brings me to breastfeeding. I am PRO breastfeeding BUT I am not for breastfeeding if it is causing the mother too much stress. Yes the antibodies and everything else are wonderful for our babies and if you can do it, good for you. But I am not for mothers sacrificing their mental health over it. I see some people who are stressed out beyond belief over breastfeeding and wonder WHY. Again... my happiness matters too. Yeah the baby will get the antibodies but if you are overly stressed out or in too much pain... that matters and no one is benefitting from a stressed out mother in an immense amount of pain

I also believe that breastfeeding should not be shunned. if you don't want to see a breast... don't look. On that note I ALSO find it deplorable that women make a point of showing as much breast as possible while breastfeeding just to "make a point". that does nothing but hurt the cause. Be respectful, on both sides of the coin.

I believe in the basic goodness of most people.

I believe you make your own happiness

I HATE this new fad that being a bitch is cool. Why is it cool to treat people like sh!t? The idea that being a bitch somehow makes you stronger is ridiculous... it makes you a bitch and that's about it.

I believe a little common decency goes a long way. Give a little respect and you would be surprised what you get back. Smile at people, say please and thank you, let someone else go first sometimes... it will change your life.

I am sure there is more but I think I've posted enough lol

Agree with most of those ^^^
Though I think alot of them may be one's that change or come with having a child,(I have yet to find out).

Another two:
-I find it annoying when people get angry at how mich aid goes to other countries(leaving aside the toic of how much aid the people who need it actually recieve)I think one of the most benificial things we can do as a country is help other people. It's not all me me me or us us us.I believe we are a citizen of the world.People don't know how lucky they are to live in the (Uk) and it annoys me when they don't want to share.
- the death penalty....Really tricky I do NOT like the state/justice systym being able to put people to death, that is not our choice to make.As much as I would like to kill someone if they hurt my family,it's wrong to take a life.I also think embryo research is...questionable,I dont like science getting too involved in the natural world things like cloning creep me out.
-Abortion.I cant quite work this out,I know I could not have one, ever. But I believe in choice for every women. However I almost think you should only be allowed it once.Makes me think people shouldnt be havimg sex with someone they couldnt habdle having a baby with, harsh but ultimatly thats what sex is for! This is defintly one I keep to myself though, the way people my age are now...most would think I was crazy for suggesting it.I also believe that unless under extreme circumstances the man sjould have to consent too,it's his child...if I was a man,I'd want to have my say
-Also...why is it ok for a women to hit a man and not the other way round!?I'm fed up of movoes where the women physically hurt a man and were meant to laugh, ywt if the rolea were reversed? No no no,not acceptable!
