Is anyone else getting a flashback to Binn? Different circumstances, but eerily similar. So many people wanting to help....

I hope he's okay, and will remain okay, wherever he is. I do wish someone knew SOMETHING about his whereabouts. :(
YES! YES! YES! That sure did come hurling back into my mind.

Well, lets hold off and tead lightly here. This is a precarious thing.

Reggin might be able to come back to you some day. Maybe not, but don't you want someone here to take care of him for you? Tell us where he is so he can get rescued and cared for in the very best way.

-I truly hope the best for you and your family. I know that you have been in a difficult place and had to make some really tough decisions. I hope that Reggin is somewhere safe---and that he will be loved.
Take care of yourself and your babies--I mean that.

And for those who are frustrated by all of this, please try to imagine what you might do if you had to face some hard times in your life--regardless of how those hard times came about.

This thread makes me cry. And not because I feel sorry for Reggin's owner and/or her choices.
Oh I feel sorry for her. Anyone who obviously has always cared about her dogs, loved them and has been on this forum chatting with us for a long time to suddenly be pushed up against a wall so hard and so fast, naturally is going to have a difficult time rationalizing or facing such a traumatic event. Whether or not unwise choices were made along the way to get into such a situation is the past. It is not going to help right now to dwell on the past. It has the potential for the future to learn from the past. But right now, with this acute situation, that is not going to help.

Binn was a wolfhound from a long time ago, right when I joined. It was a mess, really and I don't even know the half of the story. You can probably search it at the top of the forum.

I'm really sad for Reggin (the dog). I know you and your kids are the main concern and getting you safe and where you can be taken care of but I can't help think of how many pit bulls I've seen die in shelters. There's just so many and they're hard to adopt out. I hope that's not the case, but since there's people in the area that can at least pull him and give him some time, it'd be nice to know where he is. He always seemed like such a good dog.

I'm going to ignore the rude comments by Mrs dobson over there. The very reason I was not going to return to this thread. Glad I did. Did I not say this was an EMERGENCY and he had to be OUT TODAY? Guess you conveniently missed that part. I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with the maturity of everyone else.

If someone could get him out I would be more than ecstatic.

Okay, that's a start! Hopefully someone can pull him. I wish I was closer to help.

Hopefully someone can help pull him. I wish I lived closer so that I could be of more help.

And Reggin, my offer still stands if you need it.

Whatever, Reggin. You had a pile of chances to get him somewhere safe and ignored ALL of them. I'm not the only one thinking what I posted - but I'm the only one who posted it.

I won't say more as I'm just too sickened by the irresponsibility of this poster to this dog.

And for those who are saying oh, poor baby, it was an emergency?

I DID have to do that once. I had somewhere for my dogs to go in 24 HOURS - I called everyone I could and found somewhere for them to go. I NEVER just gave up and placed them in a shelter so don't assume and don't point fingers without facts.

I would NEVER in my entire LIFE place a dog, especially a pit bull, in a shelter. No way, no how. It's pathetic and disgusting that this happened.

My heart breaks for this young woman who has found herself in an untenable situation, along with one child and another on the way.

Regardless of anything that has transpired, I wish you the best possible outcome. Maybe one small step in the right direction is getting your guy Reg taken care of. Please keep coming back and letting us know how you are if you can.

How could you do this? :yikes: You had a TON of offers of help and you just ignored them all and let him go to (probably) a kill shelter? :yikes:

And how convenient that you just don't want to talk about it.

Disgusting is more the word I'd use.

Poor dogs... and poor children in that household. :(
Do NOT open your trap about my children. Oh so convenient of you to only skim this thread and miss the part where I have MOVED OUT of the household. Oh how cold and calloused I am to get my daughter out of this situation and to get me into a place where I can safely have my baby in 2 months.

Before you make JUDGMENTS, you might want to get your facts straight first.

really? Have you been around long enough to make this kind of commentary regarding a member who has been here for quite some time? Wow--even if you were able to manage your situation differently, maybe Reg. couldn't given her circumstances--she has no phone, no internet, no car, a baby and another on the way--with a limited time to make some choices. I for one, give her credit for making needed changes. And I pray to god I don't find myself in such an emergent situation one day--could happen to any one of us at any time--think about that a little, yeah---just a little.

Enough already. She doesn't need bashing.

We don't know the circumstances--not that it's any of our business, anyway. For all we know, her landlord could have called and said, "We'll be there in 15 minutes, and that dog had better be gone."

Help is wonderful, but it takes time. Reggin was blindsided and had to act very, very, quickly. And it's one thing to find a resuce to take an adorable golden retriever puppy, but quite another to find a rescue to take an adult, intact male pit bull.

And how dare you insinuate that Reggin doesn't care for her dogs. Anybody who follows her posts can see how much she loves her dogs. I don't fault her for making that decision, because it was obviously one made with much agony and tears.
