BLECK! GRAPHIC! :rofl1:

I want to say, Phoebe's poop is tiny, (she is 38lbs and her pooh is about the size of an average house cat, no joke) no matter WHAT she eats, and she averages one poop a day. Always been that way from day one coming home from the shelter on food full of corn and by products. It does not crumble when smashed like that unless she has had her serving of RMB that day though. So apparently, her digestive track is super high efficient, LOL

Pretty dramatic isnt it?

I was feeding kibble to a dog I had here for training, I may have told this story before. But she crapped easily 2-4 times as much per crap and do it 2-3 times a day. My raw fed would once a day and easily half or less the amount in "one sitting" :)

I lived in that house for 4 years and always picked up the stuff in our yard and threw it under this tree in the back in a small depression in the ground. I never had a "build up" as it all broke down and wasn't very much. Then I got this other one in for training, and it filled up in a week.

Now she's mine, and on raw and the change has been amazing.

It's going to depend on the kibble, too. Kharma's daily is typically one roll, about 3 - 4 inches long, depending on what other foods she's shared with me. Pretty good for a 150 pound dog ;)

Now, let her eat something other than the EVO RM and there's more. She does about the same on raw, only I have to give her extra fat/oil or it crumbles on the way out, she has to strain and seems to be a little uncomfortable.

The other two are also greatly reduced, although it's difficult to tell with Bimmer because he's always gone to the bushes and hidden his.

I have to say... I wonder about the sanity of someone that gathers and photographs their dog's poop...

Holymoly! I wonder what kibble they're feeding! Geez that's a ton of crap!

Nia has about twice as much poop on kibble as on raw but I don't think she poops that much more compared to raw. In the end I still went back to kibble because Nia refuses to eat on time with raw and I can't leave raw out for her to eat whenever because it spoils. SHe's really the pickiest dog in the world though. Starved herself for 4 days (ate 1 meal in 4 days) because I was giving her CHICKEN again.

I will probably never feed my dogs a straight, home made raw diet. I do not trust myself to put in the proper ingredients for them. I tried it with Ella and she lost weight and hair. I was feeding her 3 lbs + meat daily to keep weight on her, and she STILL lost weight.

I was wondering what kibble their feeding too. My girls eat kibble, but their poop is nothing like the kibble fed dog used for the 'experiment'

I know who took the pictures her sanity is fine. ;)

I think its pretty interesting if you can stomach it. Maybe there should be a "graphic" warning on this thread. :rofl1:

On edit: That is one day worth of poop not one poop. I know when Hannah was on kibble she pooped more than once a day but each dog is different.

All dogs have different digestion, though. It probably would have been more dramatic if they'd photographed poo from the same dog when fed raw and kibble.

My dogs eat kibble and don't poo nearly that much, lol

Lucy only poops 2x per 3 days on average. Not much each time either, and that's on kibble (albeit a grain free one). With all her issues digesting different proteins, there's no way she could handle a raw diet--she can't eat chicken or beef or lamb without severe issues. I'm grateful for kibble.

At least that kibble poo is better looking than the cow plop rainbow poos from dogs being fed crap like Beneful and Kibbles N Bits. BLECK!!! That stuff makes my stomach turn.

Agreed. Like I said about Phoebe's poop.......her poop was the same when she was on the shelter food (purina something) as it was when I switched her to Solid Gold, Blue Buffalo, Chicken Soup, and now 1/2 cooked-1/2 kibble (diamond naturals with a sprinkle of evo). It's ALWAYS tiny little cat poop sized, once a day.

Orson's poop hasn't changed much from kibble to kibble or cooked w/ kibble or just plain cooked either. The only thing that changes with him is his GAS! hahaha, it goes from stank butt to tolerable depending on what he's eating. But I don't think he has a very good tummy.......it gets upset easily, he has diarrhea easily, etc etc.

I agree!

We had friends a couple of years ago who fed their JRT Beneful. They complained about how he would puke and stain their carpets from all of the dyes in the food :yikes: We watched their dog for them over a weekend, and he pooped SO much and it was always soft. Ian mentioned it to the owner, and he said "eh, that's how his poop always is." :yikes:

There's definitely nothing wrong with a high quality kibble, but kibble poop is definitely different than raw poop. We had our dogs on grainfree kibble before switching to raw, and their poops now are just amazing.

And it's so stupid for them to dye the food for an animal who's color blind, but I guess even DUMBER for people to buy it because it's pretty! LOL, it's not like the dog looks at it and thinks "Oh, now that looks appetizing!" LOL

Hahahah. Definitely depends on the kibble though.... Juno's poops are smaller than some 5 pound dogs that I know. But when she was on a prescription diet briefly, her poop was MASSIVE and disgusting. The dogs we have at school are fed Science Diet and they all have some of the nastiest poop I've ever seen....

As long as I don't have to clean up a pile of mush, I'm happy!
