Very true Grammy.

Edit- oops I posted my post without finishing what I was saying. lol

I *might* at some point add a little quote but that won't be when I get the butterfly done this summer.

I agree with Grammy, just go with the butterfly. Writing, unless it's big, generally doesn't look that great.

I got my first tattoo on my thigh and barely felt it. It is only visible if I want it to be, much like most of my tattoos(I have one on my arm that likes to peek out.) so I don't get all those random people coming up to me and MOVING MY CLOTHES around so they can look at my body.

I agree with the first part.

My thighs are just about all muscle, so would that make it hurt any less or any more?
I would slap someone silly if they tried to move around my clothes to see a tattoo or something.

I wonder if maybe it would be better more symmetrical? Like, it looks like the drawing is done from an angle (you can see that the right side is more prominent than the left)? I wonder if that would translate well onto skin...it might just look like it's unbalanced. Probably just depends on the tattoo artists' skill, though. Or you could ask them what they thought. They usually know what will and won't "translate" into a good tattoo.

And I would for sure do colour. I think it would look really nice as a colourful tattoo.

Also, be prepared for even fleshy parts of your body to hurt. I have a fairly large tattoo on the inner part of my forearm on both arms. It's quite fleshy...and it hurt. :)

I have been kind of thinking about a butterfly tattoo. Don't know that I'll ever get around to it, though. Nowhere to put it. :p

I really like that one.

I think that would be a beautiful tribute. :)

Don't rush it. I thought about one of my tattoos for almost 4 years before the actual design just came to me. In fact, I was working the lab at the clinic when it came to me and I drew it on a napkin right then & there. Even thought I had known what I wanted, I didn't know the specifics until that point in time.

If it's meant to be, it will come to you. ;)

I have one on my thigh...easiest one yet. It'll be cake for you.

If its visible people will touch you. ALOT. I've been grabbed as well.

I wish I knew this before I got heavily tattooed in a short time frame.

Yes, they will. I have tattoos on my chest :D. Males will not just grab, but females have no problem
I get asked about my tattoos every time I am out. I have a lot of song lyrics and I certainly won't read them all to people, so sometimes I think I seem rude, but I do get sick of explaining. It's part of having them, though

I have 13 tattoos in various places, and seriously, none of them hurt. It depends on what you think hurts

Girls grab your chest? lol

I know you said that none of them hurt, but I am sensitive and am not a fan of needles but I wanna tattoo, so TO YOU what would be the best place?
I am taking opinions from everyone. :D

Oh, yeah, girls have no shame. I guess cause they assume they don't mean it sexually that it's ok?

I'll go with the majority and say that fleshier would probably be easier. If you are looking to get something on your back, the one on my back/shoulder area was just fine, too. I think with the design you chose, it might look best there, too, since it's not symmetrical and wouldn't look as good like, say, in the middle of the back/lower back, in my opinion.

I know that I'm old fashioned , but I like to only see them on beaches . I feel that they should be in discrete areas . Professionally they shouldn't be visible .....You never know what job you'll have in 30 years .

I guess thats what girls think. I wouldn't run up to you and grab you like that.

Do you have a picture of yours on your back? I would love to see it. :)

Mine are in visible areas, such as my forearms and legs, but they're still only visible if I want them to be. I cover up in professional settings, like when I worked a law firm or legal aid. It is more work, though, and some people would rather not have to worry about it every day.

You can't see the location at all really, but this is all I have on photobucket. All my other pics are saved to CDs now
