They are closed today, but it's my understanding that she had to wait on her mother (who is her only source of transportation right now) to agree to go there with her.

We're going to operate on the assumption that he IS alive and waiting until we have anything to the contrary CONFIRMED. No chances on misunderstandings or miscommunications on this will be taken if at all possible.

I know she was waiting on her mother. I also know that her fiance talked about going.

But she never came back to let us know if she ever got a ride, or if her fiance went, or if her mother went... (to wait by the door for an employee to arrive) and I thought she was living with her mother, which is where her internet access is. I guess for everyone who is pulling their hair out, it'd be nice to know if she ever made it up there, or if her fiance went like he said he would, or *something*.

Sorry, just edgy tonight, and no updates just makes it worse. :(

Bailey, thank you, you say that she has come by this evening to update us, I must've missed the updates. My bad.

I will go searching for her updates on him.

I was busy today, guys. Made an update right after I called this morning. Had to go to the welfare office where I sat for 2 hours, then off to an OB appointment, Then to paws, then to pick my sis up from school, then to a WIC appointment, then to the grocery store, then back to my old place to take care of something and check the mail. Good grief.

I have to wait until tomorrow morning before I can get a hold of anyone at paws about Reggin. After I do, I will be right here ASAP to give an update. Thats a guarantee.

If that animal control officer tells the shelter he actually doesn't know if it was Reggin who had the bite history (or, better yet, that Reggin doesn't have a bite history) I think that would solve a ton of the problems. I mean, that seems to be half the problem. I hope you can convince him, Reggin. Talk to him and cry if you have to. ;)
When I spoke with him on the phone he sounded quite confused and told me that he might have him mixed up with another dog and he was going to call paws and talk to them about it, so I am hoping for the best.

There are several threads on this topic, and she has been online today and provided updates. Also, you've posted several times that she should be sitting outside, and, while I appreciate that it's difficult (and maybe frustrating) for everyone to sit by and not feel fully informed, let's keep in mind that we're trying to keep Reggin the person coming back and providing updates and information, and that there are a lot of things going on in her life.
She's also 8 months pregnant and has a toddler. So sitting outside all day may not exactly be an option.

I really hope Chazzers are able to get Reggin out and give Reggin (the person) some peace of mind.

What you could say is that you were in a panic because you thought you had to get rid of him asap because of where you rent. You were sobbing and your mother just took him to the shelter to make it easier on you. But you and she acted in haste because that is not a problem after all, that you have living arrangements now that make it so you don't have to get rid of Reggin. So you want YOUR dog back. Gosh, I hope they haven't euthanized him already...like by some mix up.

Is anyone who lives around there who can meet up with you and get him? I thought I read that somewhere along this thread. Want to make sure.

Not sure how to start this off, but I am going to get right to the point.

I went to paws right when they opened this morning. The lady took us to a back room away from the other people where we learned that he was put to sleep the evening my mom dropped him off. She was very nice with us and talked to us for a good 5 minutes explaining what happened. She was very sorry for us. The officer WAS mistaken with the bite history, but there were 3 behavioral experts that visited Reggin. They came to the conclusion that euthanasia was the best option for him. He was aggressive, so much to the point where they could not transport him to the vet to get him looked over (something they do with all the animals). He was uncontrollable and they tried and tried with him all evening. Couldn't even get him out of his crate without risking someone getting seriously injured. They said it wasn't just fear aggression... he was going after people and lunging. Not sure how much I believe that it was not fear. I dont know what "experts" they had in there anyway.

Come to find out, I could have gotten him out of there. Even with his aggression issues, they would have signed him over to me. I got there too late. To learn that was like a dagger right straight through my heart. But with the aggression he had, I am not so sure it would have been a good idea to rehome or foster him anyway.

This is not the Reggin I remember. I was more than amazed to learn how aggressive he was acting. I have taken him for walks and people loved him and he loved people. No issues. No signs of aggression. For the past month my ex fiance has had friends and strangers walk through our house with NO issues from reggin. He greeted people in his home with his wiggle butt. Being taken out of his environment into a strange place with strange people and without his family set him off. Thats the only thing I can think of.

I did not want to come back here and give bad news. For the last day I have been preparing myself for the worst as I doubted they would keep a potentially aggressive dog alive for long.

The dog she described is not the dog I knew and not the dog we see in the many pictures I have posted here. He was Madisons best friend.

Reggin was from a litter of 13. He was the most timid... scared and reclusive. He was the last puppy left because nobody wanted him. I was the first person he would willingly come up to. Against my best judgment I took on a dog who had a less than ideal temperament. After bringing him home he would hide under the kitchen table. Never once did he growl at anyone of us in his 2 years of life. Madison fed him from her hands. He let me get into his food bowl while he was eating. He truly was an amazing dog.

Thanks to all the chazzers who have put there effort into saving him. I am lucky to know such wonderful and warm hearted people even if its just through the internet. Thanks to everyone who have been supportive, caring, and non-judgmental while going though such hard times.

Or they are goddamned lying to cover their asses because the AC officer is an idiot who can't keep be bothered to check on his bite reports.

Poor Reggin. :(

I was unable to help in any way should Reggin have been ok, so hadn't posted, but I've been reading through all of Reggin's threads and hoping for the best. How unfortunate that this was the outcome.

Oh I was going to post something VERY similar :madgo:

Do I think he could have been nervous and upset in a strange place? sure enough..........but "uncontrollable" after you say he isn't aggressive in these past years with him? I highly doubt it.

These are the same people who told bunny he was there and fine for the moment...........and now they are saying he was euthed the day your mother dropped him off?

WTF?? :madgo:

Rest peaceful dear Reggin.........:(

Words cannot express how unbelievably sad and pissed off I am right now, I am literally crying over a dog I've never met. I don't care how cruel this sounds or how much its' rubbing salt in the wound but I hold you personally accountable Reggin. You had weeks of people offering to take Reggin before it came to your landlord's suddenly popping in and demanding you get rid of him, even then you had AT LEAST 24 hours before you took him to a KILL shelter in which people were brainstorming, offering donations, etc to take him. At some point you lied to us and failed Reggin. Either about his temperment, when you actually took him to the shelter or about what the landlord said. They HAVE to give you 30 days notice/warning before evicting you over anything, even non-payment of rent.

I'm just beyond disgusted right now.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
