Thank you all for the support. We are hoping hoping hoping it's just an infection. We will have to wait until tomorrow to get the protein-creatinine ratio test results back, and we won't get the lepto titre results until monday, at the earliest.

You would never ever guess there was anything wrong with him if you saw him in person. He's still his goofy, active self...although noticeably a bit lower energy. The great thing is that he is still eating, drinking, peeing, pooping.

If it's not an infection, it means the kidneys are failing and we will likely go to a specialist for an ultrasound to see what condition the kidneys are in and where to go from there.
Unfortunately there is no cure and not much we can do to reverse what damage has been done, so we'll focus on keeping him as comfortable as possible, but with his best interests in mind.

That's really good, though, that he still has a lot of energy and is eating/drinking, and going to the bathroom normally. I'm really hoping it's just an infection, and that he'll be feeling better as soon as he's treated!

I've had my share of dog emergencies lately, so I completely know how you feel. You're not alone, and have the support of this whole forum to help you out :)

Hopefully it's an infection that can be treated.

OH NO!!

Sorry to hear that things are getting worse, but on the bright side I am glad to hear that he is still acting his goofy self, drinking and eating.

Vibes are being sent his way and yours and I hope the results end up being just an infection.

Thank you so much...It's really tough having to wait until monday for the titre...

I thought I would post some of his kidney values to show you had bad they are...

Healthy dogs should have a urea level between 3.0-10.0 mmol/L, Mitch is at 23.9
Healthy dogs should have a creatinine level between 30-140 umol/L, Mitch is at 474
Healthy dogs should have a calcium level between 2.20-3.00 mmol/L, Mitch is at 3.04
Even his cholesterol is high at 11.2, healthy dogs are between 3.0-9.9

*sigh*
