Do your dog(s) pefer playing with you or other dogs.

Teagan would way rather play with Tyler or myself. She gets rather pissed if another dog tries to join in the fun.

She also would rather play with a toy by herself than with another dog, and again gets pissed if a dog tries to join in her fun.

Its a training issue were working on now that Mitsu is staying.

Although she does really like playing with Emme, and she does play with Mitsu once in a while, but its in short bursts and we usually have to kill the play because Teagan has enough and Mitsu doesnt know when to stop. If we allow the "play" to continue it usually ends in a llittle fight.... freaking terriers.

My dogs all prefer to play with me. I've only had one dog that was "doggy" (loved interacting and playing with dogs), the rest have always been far more into me.

Pip... doesn't really play that much, never has. He likes to swim and fetch sticks at the dog park, I guess that's sort of playing. He has bursts of wanting to play chase with other dogs, either mine or at the dog park, but he mostly prefers to interact with people.

Maisy and Squash will play with anyone who will play with them, human or dog. Who they prefer to play with depends on what they're playing - they could play keepaway or chase or wrestle with each other all day, but Maisy adores playing tug with me and Squash loves to play agility or ball with me.

Me.

That just came with maturity though. Juno used to be obsessed with playing with other dogs and it was impossible for me to get her attention on me. And now, she very rarely plays with dogs.... And she like, acts disgusted if they try to play with her. So weird.

Tiffany would rather play with me. When I take her to the dog park, doesn't quite get it and she would rather follow me around than play with the other dogs. She's getting a little more adventurous over time though, and she'll occasionally go sniff other dogs. She also just prefers people in general. She sometimes runs up to other random people at the dog park and lets them pet her.

The one exception is her Pomeranian BFF, Sir Pufflemuff. When she's around him, it's non-stop cute fluffy dog wrestling.

All prefer me, but the whippets are very happy to play with other dogs. The JRTs don't really play with other dogs (just brief moments every so often)

All prefer other dogs. They'll all play fetch with me til they drop, but they have way more fun if they're all out together, or with a group of other dogs.

As long as I'm being embarassingly fun and animated, Ripley prefers me over other dogs. But otherwise, he'd play with another dog over me any day. It's something I've been working with him on (getting more focused and interested in me when other dogs are around). I can get him excited and in a playful mood, but if there's another dog around, he'll run off and play with it eventhough I'm the one who initiated play. He loves other dogs.

Dance would rather play with me (or another favourite person) than another dog any day. As she gets older, she's really not into playing with other dogs at all. She'll play with Ripley and sometimes Keira (if Keira's in the mood), but other than them, there are select few dogs she actually plays with. I like it that way though. I love how into games she is with people as opposed to other dogs.

Keira doesn't play very often. Not with us, not with other dogs, not with toys... nothing. Sometimes I can sort of rile her up and get her to somewhat play with me, but it's short lived. I can get her to fetch a ball on a long line, but that's not really play more than it is a training exercise/a good way to get her to do something other than run aimlessly or sleep. She'll wrestle with Dance and Ripley sometimes, but it usually doesn't last long. She has a couple of other male dogs she'll play with really well, but otherwise, she's kind of a party pooper. So she doesn't prefer humans or dogs when it comes to play - it's a miracle if she plays at all. The princess thinks she's much too good for such nonsense.

Missy definitely prefers playing with people versus playing with other dogs. She doesn't really play with other dogs at all - if they try to initiate, she just sits there. Her and Jack will play occassionally, but it took six months of them living together for that to happen. But yes - definitely people over other dogs.

Jack will happily play with me when there aren't any other dogs around (excluding Missy), but if we have friends' dogs over, or I have a foster dog at the time - he highly prefers playing with other dogs.

Jackson prefers playing with other dogs.... MOST of the time. It just depends on the situation and the dogs involved. Like, when we go to the dog park, he's ALL about going off and playing with the other dogs and being on the other side of the park, etc. But he always keeps an eye on me. He likes for me to be involved in play in the house though - rarely do him and my dads dogs play with each other without human interaction as well lol.

They prefer to play with me, I think. But some of the larger dogs I've had and my grand dog, Toker, I think like to play equally with both her humans in her family and with some other dogs. That all depends on what kind of play. The kind of play that only dogs can do together, she loves and the kind of play people do that dogs don't do, like throw a ball, she appreciates a lot. But as far as my Chi's, they too like to play together quite a bit, but if I get on my hands and knees while they're playing, they'll both come to me and try to get me in on their game. Or Jose` will bring me a toy and try to egg me on to play while Chulita might tend to go take a rest. lol.

Traveler prefers to interact with me and play with me. Though, I do at times use that loosely because I think if he figured out a way to get a tree to throw his Wubba or Tennis Ball he would be pretty down with playing with a tree.

But over all yes, he prefers me over other dogs and me over other people. But, sometimes, there comes a dog that just is too amazing to resist.

Kaylee prefers food (live or not) over me or dogs. But if she had to choose it would more than likely be other dogs.

Oh Quinn definitely prefers people. Other dogs are beneath her, in her opinion!
Cause dogs are icky....unless they have balls

Kiba prefers playing with me. The times she does play with the others it's usually some form of bitey face, or practicing ways to kill them. The younger four will play with each other nonstop if I let them, but also enjoy playing with me.

Eve only wants to play with me and my family. If I hand her ball off to a new person, she'll play with them. She wants nothing to do with other dogs and stresses when they come near.

Dusk prefers other dogs, he has a keen interest in them and likes to play.

Probably other dogs...I've never really tried competing with them though. But he loves playing with other dogs and I love that he loves it. He's not obsessive though. Like on a walk he'll be absolutely OMG I WANT TO MEET IT! and refuse to move. Then he'll go, sniff it, maybe play bow, and if it gives nothing back he'll move on. So if the other dogs want to play he's all over it, but if not he's happy to leave it alone (except his girlfriend, he won't leave her alone). I don't think he'd choose tug or fetch over another dog, unless they'd already said their hellos and decided not to play.

The thing that I've noticed, mainly with dogs that are bigger and rougher than the Chihuahuas is that there are games that only dogs can play. You know...those kind where they zoom at mach speeds, chasing each other, crashing, rearing up, pawing at each other, biting on necks and ears, tackling one another and then zooming across a field again, turning corners, flying over logs etc. Those are the kinds of games that only other dogs can satisfy, at least for some dogs, like my son's dog, Toker or any of my other past dogs that were of any substantial size. lol. The Chi's like to run and tumble too, but I can usually keep up with them. So for those kinds of games, most of my dogs have preferred other dogs. For the more sedate, tamer games like fetching or "playing" agility, tricks or tug, they prefer me.

I'd say my dog prefers her humans. She does love to romp with other dogs but she always ends coming back to us for interaction.
