If you wanna get technical, working dogs who serve a genuine purpose are extremely rare.
For example, take agility and Rally-O. They don't serve a single useful purpose. Same with sled dog racing and weight pull. How much call is there for a dogsled nowdays? They're all hobbies. Not one of them serves a useful function in today's world. They could all be gone, and, in terms of functions and services provided, nobody would ever miss them.
I think the only true working dogs around now are herders, service dogs, hunters, protection animals, LGDs and search dogs. There may be a few I missed, but you get the idea.
That being said, I don't think O.C. was intending to offend everyone on the board. She just prefers dogs that do jobs. To each their own. Although, I can see why people would find that statement on her siggy offensive.
