i'm gonna have to go with the "kelpie something or other" opinion.

Hey, maybe a kelpie cattle dog! :D sometimes acd mixes get that "fat" face

Kelpies are relatively rare in the US, but when I was originally searching for breeders, there are actually quite a few in the western US (and probably a whole lot more that don't have websites). They are infinitely useful on a ranch. If he's a local dog, I wouldn't be shocked to see a kelpie mix in Texas. The dilute colors of kelpie can have greenish eyes, which is what that dog's look like in the first picture.

I couldn't find a good adult picture, but here's a pup with similar coloring:

Eyes look green/amber like usual with a dilute like that.

Honestly I see absolutely no pharaoh hound. Wrong colour, wrong face shape, and a sight hound mix wouldn't be short legged and stocky like that. A lot of pit type mixes with erect ears get mislabeled as pharaohs...

Not saying this dog's a pit mix at all... The second pic really doesn't look like it to me. It is definitely plausible though.

I see Kelpie, esp in the face. I don't see ACD much in the second pic.

I see kelpie, lots of it. But is probably unlikley.

I'm gonna go with Boston and say kelpie/APBT. Maybe the pit part set off the kelpie aloofness, giving him the BC personality lol
