Lilly has had some trouble with her breathing and has been coughing a lot lately. I had her at the holistic vet on Monday who gave her acupuncture for neck and back pain (which helped!!) and some herbal diuretics.
Things had not improved this morning and she opted out of her walk which is :yikes: for her!
I took her down to the normal vet and she was admitted for Xrays and observation. It turns out her left lung was 1/4 full of fluid and she had pre pneumonia. She was put on an anti biotic drip and a diuretic drip for around 4 hours. They called me and told me she is well enough to come home.
I fetched her and her medication has been quadrupled.
I know she is an old dog and I can't really expect her to be super healthy but I got a hell of a fright! I should have followed my gut and taken her to the normal vet on Monday, but I wanted to give alternatives a chance.
Anyway, thank god she is home and doing better. Poor baby!
