I posted on your FB as well, but did want to say that I was thinking of you and Kaylee this morning. Trent was galloping through the fields and stopping to sniff Every Goddamn Flower, swinging around to check up on me every so often.

Of course we hear about Traveler and puppy Didgie and their silly antics, training accomplishments, and general cool Koolie quirkiness, but it's pretty clear that you love Kaylee, too. The moments I talk about on Chaz are the cute ones, the funny ones, or the flat out infuriating ones. But the moments when I stop to appreciate what a great dog I have, and what I've learned and gone through with him - those are the best, even if I don't post about it often.

Kaylee's probably taught a few life lessons (whether you liked it or not), and she undoubtedly has a few more to share. She's a tough girl (how could she not be? She's the Cow Dog! Plus, she lives with TWO sassy, ingenious Koolies). Give her a hug and a butt scritch from me, and hugs to you, too (no butt scritches though).

I'm so sorry Linds! You deserve a pity party... we all know how much you love Kaylee.

I agree with your decision not to amputate, and to let Kaylee live out the rest of her life as happily as possible. She's a very lucky dog! And so cute! Love her.

Oh I am so sorry. :( I think you're definitely making the right decision for her. That is so tough and my heart breaks for you.

I just wanted to say that two days ago I was tentatively planning on having her put to sleep on Monday, she was in pain, didn't get up for food with any eagerness and pretty much laid in one spot all day.

Then she woke up yesterday with a zip in her step and again today.

She's raiding the garbage, barking at things that move or think about moving, standing on her head for butt scratches wiggling and wagging greetings and dancing to go for walks. She's completely tri-poding it but getting around pretty well, though walks are very short.

But she says she's still got life to live and things to get into so no way I'm arguing. She's making me smile.

I just saw this :(

I think you're making the best decision for her. Hopefully she'll continue to have many more days of wanting to raid the garbage!

Lots and lots of (((((((((HUGS))))))))))) and ((((((((((((VIBES))))))))))))) for you both.

I didn't realize that Kaylee was so young. It's not fair that she has to go through this. She looks so happy still and is lucky to have an owner who cares about her quality of life. My heart is breaking for you both.

I saw the photos on Facebook, but I didn't see what was up. I know you didn't want it to be pity, so I won't say it.

But I love Kaylee, and these photos. She's the most beautiful cow dog :)

I'm so sorry. :(

I'm like you in that if I pretend it's not happening, then it isn't really happening. Too bad it doesn't work. :(

I'm just now reading this. :( I'm so sorry. Sounds like she's living her life to the fullest, though, and that's all that really matters.

Oh no!! :( I'm so sorry. :( I love Kaylee, she's my favorite out of your dogs and I know how much you love her too. Hugs to you and Kaylee. You both will be in my thoughts. Give your pretty girl a kiss for me.

She had a bad day yesterday but today felt good enough to go outside, slip her collar and go bouncing around the neighbor hood on three legs while I chased her with a box of milkbones.

I don't think I ever thought I would be chasing that fat whale of a dog around in boxer shorts and a camisole, at 7 in the morning, with a box of milkbones, yelling for her with a big grin on my face because her doing this meant she was feeling frisky.

((HUGS)) I've written this post like 1000 times. I'm glad to hear she is still in good spirits!
