Honestly.... IDK. I would say corgis and Aussies, but maybe I'll go with a different breed later on?

I can say that I will always have (a) derpy herder boy(s). Serious Love <3.

ETA: Copper really has the best ears ever! And she's so chill with everything! I love her. Haha.

I guess I won't really know until I own more than one Aussie, but right now I'd say Aussies are it. I love Journey so much and her traits just mesh with me so well. I seem to compare, however unfairly, all other dogs and breeds to her and Aussies in general now. Even the breed I thought was my forever breed (Tollers) isn't anymore thanks to Journey. That said, I do think there are other breeds I would also enjoy. I just always want to have an Aussie or two with those other breeds. I am pretty certain that one day I will have some.kind of Belgian, perhaps still a Koolie at some point, and surprisingly after knowing one, I think I would actually really enjoy a (race bred) Whippet. And who knows what else life will bring me. But yes, right now, Aussies are definitely it.

I don't think I have one yet really. I think for a while at least I want one small terrier-ish dog with another. I THINK Border Terriers could be my "must always have one" breed but without owning one yet, I can't say for sure. Second dog or future dogs are still up in the air. I think my perfect combo would be small terrier and small/medium herder.

Well, if a Squash is not an option, then unless something changes significantly over time god help me I think malinois. I'm a convert.

*But also love hounds. And Alaskans. Maybe I'll just always run a mal-hound-alaskan team. :p

I will always have a sturdy, physical, athletic, fetch having, water loving, cuddle sharing, watch dog derp of a dog around. The various Retriever breeds seem to fit that role the best, so I'll likely not ever be without one, regardless of the flavor.

I will always have some kind of herder. Probably Aussie/BC. I would also love to have a rescue pit/pit mix. I've loved so so many of the ones that I've met volunteering at shelters.

I don't think I'll ever have an "I'll always have one" breed; I like the idea of 2, maybe 3 dogs at most, and with limited numbers comes the need to really select for what I want at that point in my life. While I'm still so focused on agility and love hiking and training and such, herding dogs/mixes seem very appropriate. Who knows where life will go 15 years down the line, though?

Greyhound. But it's kind of a catch 22. I love my greyhounds and I love so much about them. They fit me so well. But I've never had any other breed... so maybe I'm missing out on other breeds that would fit me. I'm just so afraid now that I would get another breed and realize I should have stuck to greyhounds!

But all that said, regardless, I always want to have a greyhound.

Cattledogs and cattledog mixes. Everything else is just a dog. There are other intense herding breeds that also appeal to me, I wouldn't say no to a kelpie or koolie. There are tons of cattledogs in rescue though, so I will likely always have a rescue heeler.

I would like to think I would say JRT. But after Dekka goes... I dunno. No dog will ever be Dekka and would I have unrealistic expectations of later JRTs? I love the breed but I dealt with that when I lost Toby and got Kaiden. No matter what Kaiden did he wasn't Toby. Whilst Toby was an awesome dog he is no Dekka..

So I don't know. I do know I want a whippet again some day. I miss them.
