I live alone.. and in MANY ways.. it's better lol It's quiet, it's clean, everything is personal, nobody touches my stuff, messes with my dog, I can basically do whatever I want in my apartment and do like that it's MINE.
I spend my WHOLE DAY in classes, at work, dealing with people.. sometimes I just want to come home and not frikin deal with other people.
I live in an apartment building with a concierge and heavy security though.. so I don't really worry about noises in the night and I really like my neighbors
so I don't feel scared or anything. In fact, I usually feel MUCH safer in my apartment then I do when I go over people homes (being on ground levels scares me. go figure lol)
I'm pretty introverted in that sense. and I find other people to be kind of tiring and since I am pretty social I spend all day with my friends and talking to people and sometimes need to come home and just..relax.
I would happily live with someone I knew who "got that' and knew to kind of leave me alone when I'm doing my own thing..
It was merely an issue of moving to a new city where I didn't know anyone..and I really didn't want to take the craigslist gamble and be driven crazy by someone for a year.
but I might re-evaluate the roomie situation in a year or so if I find someone I get along with well.
