this has been interesting and sort of funny to me. I hope the TSA gets stopped, and I hope you all then fly with ease. you all cry the blues like so many people that cry without giving any better answer to difficult times. you just like to complain. go for it, and I hope you win. I hope they don't pat down your child if you then take that child on a plane where they didn't care. whatever works for you, cause it seems anyone that has a different opinion is crazy. like somebody getting their boobies barely touched is so obscene!!!!! guess you have different boobies than I do. and a child gets a simple, non assaulting pat.....you all want to freak out. great and entirely mature. carry on. :)

You don't seem to understand the fundamental root of our objection. When you cut through it it comes down to this. You say its just the way the world is now, and its normal now, so what's the big deal?

The big deal is THAT IT SHOULDN'T BE NORMAL. There's no reason for it to be normal. There's no reason to put up with this, whether or not you find it offensive. And when this becomes normal, what next? If they can do an "enhanced patdown" and put you through a nude scanner with no suspicion of wrongdoing, what can they do if they think you look shifty? A cavity search? What next? Will they start doing this when I board a bus? A train? Go to the mall? What will happen to all of us when the "butt-bomber" strikes?

We don't want it to be normal. And we don't want the next step, what ever it is, to seem reasonable and prudent, because after all, enhanced patdowns are normal, so what's the big deal with . . . [blank]?

This is how freedom and privacy are lost . . .when not having them becomes "normal" because "the world is different" and "its safer." My children and grandchildren will never believe that once we walked into airports with nothing but a metal scan, that we once had a right to be free of unreasonable search and seizure. The world is no more or less dangerous than it ever was (I'm reading book now that discusses domestic terrorism in the 1910s-1920s . . . believe me, our current problems are NOTHING), and yet everyone is so willing to give up their dignity, autonomy, and freedom to be "safe."

There's your answer . . . we are screaming "NO!" to the "its normal" claim. It may be normal . . . but it shouldn't be.

Personally I don't care. As I said if it helped I would be ok with it.

A few facts though, about your feeling safe.

the scanners have the same risk of causing you to have cancer, as you do being involved with a terrorist attack on a plane.

Breast milk is supposed to be examined in a special way yet the TSA

she gets to stand in a glass room for all to see. So so you can feel safe this women gets made a specatcle and gets to miss her flight because she knew the rules, so you can FEEL safe.

How about screening the screeners. Two TSA agents were busted for stealing over 160K, no wonder things get past. They aren't making you safer, but I its worth it to you FEEL safer?

A retired special education teacher on his way to a wedding in Orlando, Fla., said he was left humiliated, crying and covered with his own urine after an enhanced pat-down by TSA officers recently at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

“I was absolutely humiliated, I couldn’t even speak,†said Thomas D. “Tom†Sawyer, 61, of Lansing, Mich.
but thats ok cause you get to FEEL safer?

Due to his medical condition, Sawyer asked to be screened in private. “One officer looked at another, rolled his eyes and said that they really didn’t have any place to take me,†said Sawyer. “After I said again that I’d like privacy, they took me to an office.â€

Now you say you are ok with them handling your breasts. Are you ok with having them shown to all the people around?

Lawsuit: Airport search indecent | Amarillo Globe-News

"As the TSA agent was frisking plaintiff, the agent pulled the plaintiff's blouse completely down, exposing plaintiffs' breasts to everyone in the area," the lawsuit said. "As would be expected, plaintiff was extremely embarrassed and humiliated."

The suit said the woman filed an administrative claim against the TSA, but the agency never responded, sparking the lawsuit.
You are ok with this (this one really bothers me) so you can have the false sense of security?

of course it SHOULDN'T be normal. it sucks. it sucks a lot. did I make that the way it should be ...no. did you...no. did someone...yes. it is totally offensive and not right that it is what it is. but...truly..what better solution do you have? because something now does have to be tried and done, and there will always be objections to whatever it is. it. sucks. it's not like MY world should be. it's not like I want it.

you're wrong when you say I don't understand the objection. oh yes I do. I don't understand bombs on planes or people with bombs in their shoes or underpants. I HATE that our children have to have a pat down. what I understand, tho, is it IS the new world whether we like it or not. no matter how much we object. bash the TSA to the ends of the earth, but sometimes 'we' as a people just have to try. NO...it doesn't stop all things. but to cry about something that wasn't a big deal is still ridiculous to me, and that is what you did when you wanted outrage over a simple pat down of a child.

Dekka...a lot of that is nonsense. pure and simple. ' pat down leaves man in urine'..I can't even begin to say how ridiculous that example is. I don't care about people that sensitive....THEY SHOULDN'T FLY. the other examples.....again, drama. I get that you are trying to make your point. you did. I get your objection, and that's your problem. as I said if you bothered to read it.......agree to disagree sometimes.

he had BLADDER CANCER and had a bag not because he was upset. read the LINK!
“One agent watched as the other used his flat hand to go slowly down my chest. I tried to warn him that he would hit the bag and break the seal on my bag, but he ignored me. Sure enough, the seal was broken and urine started dribbling down my shirt and my leg and into my pants.”

how is that dramatic? I mean I suppose you can say the TSA is doing dramatic things. They originally wanted to screen pilots. Just goes to show how stupid this all is. It took a few pilots pointing out they don't need anything on them to cause a plane to crash, they are flying it.

But please explain how all the things I mentioned are ok, especially in light of the fact the TSA screening processes are not making you actually safer.

If we don't stand up and say this is outrageous and intolerable, then it won't change. If we just say "hey, this sucks," and quietly go about our business, we're stuck with it. If we say, "This is outrageous, a violation of our rights, and unnecessary on top of it," then maybe, just maybe, someone in one of those big white buildings down the street from my office will hear and do something.

And it is outrageous. No, the girl wasn't hurt. Yes, I'm sure she will be fine. But the fact that a stranger is patting a child down is outrageous, especially in a society that is downright obsessed with child molestation. The idea that they can pull me randomly out of line, a law-abiding citizen, and put their hand between my legs because I want to fly across the country, that's outrageous (and I'm not a former victim of sexual molestation, or deeply religious).

If we are not outraged, we will not be heard. Even that is not likely to make a difference, since we are outnumbered by people who think its a good idea and people who don't care enough. But I reserve my right to be outraged . . . its the only weapon I have. That an letters to my simpering coward of a Congressman.

So some guy with a ostmy shouldn't fly simply because its too hard for the TSA to follow their own rules?

That is nonsense. I had no idea that there were people so intolerant of people with disabilities out there. I am all for disabled people being free to travel.

I believe that like I believe the parents of the child that overreacted and filmed their child 'being molested'. IF..IF it happened, it was quite an accident. I never once said there would never be a problem or an accident with the system we have now. I said......it's SOMETHING to TRY and keep you crybabies safe. you don't like it? great. then submit something amazing to replace it instead of whining about it or being dramatic.

Lil.....and there is the fact that they have missed enough stuff that it shows a terrorist could get through with out even needing to resort to putting things IN their bodies.

Its just so illogical.
