Reading that thread about what your dog looks like in person got me thinking about how big everyone's dog really is. So, share!

Mia is 10.75 inches, 6.5 lbs.

Wet:

Summer is 11.5 inches tall, 7.1 lbs.

Here's a good shot showing under the hair. (Hard to see with the coat)

Beau is 10.75 inches, should be about 7.5 lbs, but he is about at 8 lbs now.

Bernard 10 inches tall, 5.5 lbs. (should be about 6.0 but he never puts on weight)

Old pic but he's still this narrow.

More recent:

Rose is 10 inches tall, 6.0 lbs

All papillons of course. I think they look bigger in pictures. The funny thing in real life I've had several people tell me that Mia is so much tinier than the others. I think it's cause her bone structure is so much lighter and her head is smaller? Not sure, but she's quite a bit bigger than Nard and Rose.

ETA: re-measured Summer and realized she WAS taller than I thought.

I would venture to say Kaylee is a pit/lab from the ones we've had in rescue.

Victor is all legs, it makes him seem much bigger than he is. His weight is 45 lbs.
Pepper is made of solid iron I think. She is a packed hard and tight little package of 25 lbs.

AdrianneIsabel I love how conditioned your dogs are, especially the Mals. Can I give you Kaylee for a few months? Because I've never had a dog that is so hard to make loose fat. I think she's hoarding it incase one day she never gets fed again.

I also did not know Shamoo was that short

I just added this pic showing Summer's weight:

Pics don't do her physique justice. Sometimes she looks fat in pics but it's all hair.

Thank you! They're all very active dogs, even the old lady (Shamoo) who's not supposed to be because she has a bad knee.

I know all about trouble getting weight off dogs. My RT was awful at trying to slim down and the leanest she ever got was in the winter when we'd hike in snow.

When Shamoo came to me she was quite the heffer. She weighed about 75 lbs and it took a long time to slim her down. Now I work to keep weight on her, talk about irony lol

Here she is with Arnold for comparison. Flyball044 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
I don't have an actual height but she's much shorter than Arnold and he's shorter than the mals and the mals were just measured for their handling class and I am almost positive it was 24 inches. She's a squatty old bulldag.

Quinn is 19.5", Dally is a little squirt at just 18".

Not sure on their weights - it's been awhile! I'd guess Quinn around 30 pounds (maybe a tad more), Dally maybe 45?

I've always been so impressed with what you did with Shamoo. Kay (Whiplash) and I were just talking the other day about what an amazing job you did and how Kaylee needed to come live with you.

Over the summer she get's bike rides at a decent speed for 5-7 miles a few times a week with hours running and swimming and hiking on those days and others. She gains muscle but that nice coat of fat never leaves. She has amazing endurance and I think is very healthy but I don't believe she has the greatest hips and I would like to get the extra fat off of her

It's unfair how very fit coated dogs can be and no one gets to see it!
I agree! I always want a short haired dog just for that reason. Summer is ripped especially for a dog her size but she always looks poofy in pictures:

All of mine tend to being skinny (most paps I've known are hell to keep weight on) EXCEPT Beau. Beau is chubby right now and on a diet.

Milo is 13 inches at the shoulder and about 18 lbs (and probably about .5 to 1 lb overweight, now). He's supposed to be a "shorty jack". He's not really that "short-legged" but he is stocky.

My current foster dog is 50 lbs (and approximately 20 inches). Most people guess he's 80 lbs.

It amazes me how people have no concept of size/weight in dogs. Like, I met this woman who had a little female Rottie, maybe 90 lbs tops, who was a starved rescue. I asked her how much she weighed (because she was itty bitty) and the woman said 150 lbs. The woman then said "she was only 85 lbs when we got her, but you could see her spine and everything, she needed to gain a ton of weight". I don't think people can comprehend that for a 50 lb dog, 10 lbs can be the difference between emaciated and overweight.

...and a picture of a baby Lowrider just because I don't have any good pics of them standing. ;)

Name: Chloe
Breed: Aussie/farm collie mix
Height: 18"...? Maybe 19".
Weight: 45 lbs

Name: Rose
Breed: Lab/GSD/ACD/? mix
Height: 18"...? Maybe 19".
Weight: 60 lbs

I do know that Rose and Chloe are the same size, but I can pick Chloe up (via an arm behind the front legs and in front of the rear legs method) and lift her into a grooming tub that is meant for small dogs, but if I did that with Rose I would break my back. LOL Chloe is much more narrow and flexible than Rose (Chloe can curl up on a seat of my car and Rose can't), whereas Rose is much more solid and stout.

It's amazing to me all the dogs that are the same height as Summer but weigh so much more than her (the low rider types). I don't know why, it just makes me laugh.
