in all honesty i can understand the tone behind that statement. I have been treated like i "know nothing" because i simply rescue and not show/breed/trial ETC. This is likely a leftover feeling from another forum.

I haven't run into it here but i can see why som'one would feel that way and perhaps say som'thing like that.
I agree, but thats why people should perhaps read some threads, or do a little lurking BEFORE making blanket statements like that.. at least i would anyway, but I do have sense enough to know that not everyone thinks that way

post 151 is a good one too

And so why add in snide comments if you aren't trying to imply things? Why state that you "I rescue......but, that might not be enough for folks like you....."

Like us? Please answer what you mean 'like us' I am heavily involved with the JRTRO. I can even supply references if you would like.

I would like to know if you are not implying things then what is the purpose of that comment?
Ok, here is our rescue family....

My husband and I have driven thousands of miles to rescue a dog, we are not involved in show or agility.
We simply rescue.

Yep, and I learned the hard way too. I was a long time lurker to boot.

ok, so have a cookie. lots of people here do not show or trial and have rescue dogs. i have two shelter/rescue dogs that i have trialed. what that has to do with anything is beyond me.

Thats nice, but what is your point? As stated by many we do rescue work as well. And some of us also happen to compete a lot as well, or give generous discounts in classes for rescue dogs etc.
Along with my own dogs, there have been times when I have had nothing LESS than five rescues in my home, I don't have kennels.
So what is your point??

beautiful.......one must make sure to keep up the bad rep of a dog, such as yours......

This. ^ Why did you post this directed at me and the comments I made about my dogs not tolerating being obnoxiously hissed at, pointed at, or stomped at by a stranger.

No titles here, I am not interested in that, I much prefer to adopt out a dog that will be a "Good Ambassador" representing it's breed.......

What a totally innapropriate comment. How do you expect your dog to be an ambassador to the breed without titles to prove it? That's like saying you have a therapy dog but yet don't have the papers to prove you passed the test. Or a SD without proof of having passed the access test. Every dog should have at least the barest of titles. CGN, and CD if it's worth anything. Without those two what do you have?

I am sorry to burst your bubble.

Rescue dogs are not set up for titles and trophies.....

We try to get them to a home .....

Are you really that dense?

What do you mean they are not set up for titles and trophies? Dogs who have been rescued have won countless titles and trophies and honors. Rescued dogs have been service dogs, agility and obedience Champions, you name it. I don't understand your above statement that rescue dogs are not set up for titles and trophies. Could you explain what you mean by that please?

Why do you feel the need to insult people by insinuating they are dense?

My Aussie has his CGC, he's a rescue. Or is that not a "real" title? We will be working for herding and agility, maybe rally titles when I get the money again to enter those classes and competitions.

Seriously, everyone here has been trying to give you a chance to explain yourself and you keep ducking the chance. Did you really just mean what you initially said or do you have no idea what you mean to say?

omg my head hurts.

Rescues can often start out "rougher" but they do come around. If you feel a rescue is not suited for competion i'd like to know what led you to that conclusion. Perhaps it is the trainer and not the trainee.

I have big plans for one of my rescues and i don't feel there is anything she can't do. That said, she has no titles yet. Im a relatively new dog owner.

All dogs, especially rescues have great potential in the right hands and just because they have yet to acomplish som'thing does not make them worthless until they do.

Yes, Yes, Yes..........

The perfect rescue that does compete like a charm.

I have seen many rescues that are so damaged ....and could not be a show or a agility dog......does that sink in?
