Flicka came from an out of state Golden Retriever rescue. I would definately be open to going through breed rescue again - no matter the breed.
Pepe (and Lillian) came through my all-breed foster-based rescue. Both were "foster failures" as we like to call them. I would definately go this way again if an amazing dog passed through my doors again...
As for previous dogs...
Lorelei, Hero, Sunshine and Rufus, and all the rest of the Rhodesians, were either from our lines, or from reputable show/working breeders.
Fluffer (Std Poodle) was from a good breeder friend of my dad's. He retired from breeding and showing, and was rehoming some of his dogs, as he was unable to take care of them anymore. Fluffer was already a show and breeding prospect dropout, but my dad agreed to take him.
Charlie (Shepherd Mix) was a stray that followed me home one day. I put up signs, and called all the local animal controls and police departments to attempt to find his owners. Nada. So he became mine.
As for my next dog, I don't know. I've entertained the possibility of getting a Rhodesian (which would be from a reputable breeder)...but that's not for sure yet...but if a truely amazing dog came through my rescue, I don't know if I'd say no.
