Lots of places, but my favorite is Mount Vernon, as in George Washinton's estate, its a major attraction with lots of people, but there's a lot of open space good for walking and dogs are allowed on the property (though not in the house). I got a yearly pass just to walk her there. of course, if you don't live in the DC metro area, this won't help, but there might be something similar nearby.

Otherwise, she gets socialized whenever I can take her with me.

Bevo went to work with me daily, so he got to see everyone coming & going through my office. On weekends, we would go/still go hiking with friends. We make regular trips to pet supply stores, as well as the dog park.

Everywhere, that allows dogs. And trials of course, although I don't put them in the local puppy daycare, too scary for me.
The pup/s also spend every class I teach here, in an x-pen to meet and greet all the dogs and the people. If the other dogs are ok, the pups come out.

I did the things people don't reccommend... although when I got Casey, he was about a year, not a pup.
We went to petsmart, the dog park and the local skating rink where I teach on the weekends. I also bring my foster pups there, the kids love it, and the owners are really cool about me bringing animals there.

Buster, pretty much no-where and that was my mistake. He's okay with people but thats about it. I was thinking the other day how I want to socialise my next pup, the things I really want to include are

dogs of all shapes and sizes
people of all ages
traffic (buster gets freaked out in busy traffic)
motorbikes
horses
cats
cattle
sheep
pigs
rabbits

and everything else I can think of. Like elevators

Everywhere. Luckily for me I work for two different training and daycare facilities and she comes to work with me so she gets super doggy socialization through a properly and professionally supervised daycare, AND she gets to hang out in the store and meet anyone who came in to shop (perfect for winter month socialization).

I also dragged her along to any parties I was going to (with permission from the host/hostess), Home Depot, and once the weather got nicer we would go to the flea market.

I always have taken Teddy everywhere with me. My friends places some stores that allow dogs. The park and to my nieces school to pick them up.Those are the biggies.I have taken him to see the fireworks and the festivals in the park and concert's there. I took him so much that when I started my Job he hates when I leave him at home to go to work.

Where i go, Victor goes. Socialization, dog parks, people on the street, friends dogs, hardware stores, pet stores, outside gas stations, the guild where i am a volunteer is a huge part of my training him to behave in public. There he had to learn to leave the classes alone, not disturb people working on the wheels, go lay down when told, not to run to the door everytime someone came in, stay when i left the room, and so on. It was an lifetime opportunity and i will always be grateful they let me bring him. If a dog is well trained he is much more accepted in all areas of life.

Not to be overly witch-hunty, but you seem to be really curious. And you apparently post the same exact threads on multiple boards.

Am I allowed to say I love all dogs if theres some breeds I wouldnt own?!

Just a random question I am wondering about, I think the answer is yes?

Hello Chazhound Forum Members!

I thought this would be an interesting general dog discussion.
Cross breeds means two purebreds bred to make a new dog. ie: lab/poodle.

What do you perfer out of them?
Whats your thoughts, feelings, etc on these three catagories? (sp?)

It's three am here, should be in bed lol.

I love all dogs, purebreds, cross breeds, mixies. That's Me

does anyone know how to stop them? like is there a plan we can make to at
least bring make more awareness to the people of the world about this event?
How can we the people do to make a law passed?? I think at mininamal for
byb's should be forced to keep them healthy/space/etc. With regular checks
and fines, hopfully without having to give nodice to them. So they can't fake it.

A no-kill animal shelter, what is really going on with this place of dogs/cats that over crowded, lack off food/water/attention/right caging/room?! You be the judge of it, what your thoughts and views. What should be done? Does anyone live around or in that area who can check if that's just happening? Poor animals.

I know that taking in alot of unwanted pets so they dont die or get sent away could be very understandable, or at least I am guessing thats what happens to these places, because they sure dont make the room/etc these poor dogs even cats need in there place of saving them or whats there real reason, I like to think its the one I am thinking of.

Poor dogs, I only wish I had the tools needed to save and help you all!!!!!

A question poped in my head which made me wonder: How do you pick your new dog from the shelter/where ever? What are the temperment, size, anything else that would suit and require you on taking this lovely dog/puppy home with you today. What do you look for in a dog? Personally? Looks? What makes a good dog in your books to make you pick this dog then the others.

What is it about them?!?!

Hello Chazhound Forum Members Once Again!

Here you can share with us about your own personal top 10 favorite purebreds here and even top 10 of least favorite purebreds. I would love to hear your reasons why you picked them, although that part is optional. It would be interesting to see what everyone who posts has to say of there own personal taste. Do you think 10 is an reasonable number?

I'll write my list tomorrow after I get my night's sleep.

Hey, I was just curious.

You know in the wild, (wolves) how theres a top male and top female which rules over the rest of the pack? Well I was wondering since its just me (female) and Buddie (male) that he would think that we are top dogs? Equal? Since we are different genders? I'm just asking since my dog sends me mixed messages, and I am just wondering if there is such a thing.
