I really do hope the next owner of the property tears it down and makes a Guinea pig rescue or something--they certainly have the facilities if it's cleaned and spruced up.

Housing dogs has EVERYTHING to do with ethics. I don't care if everyone of someones dogs are #1 in the world. If they are kept in crap like that, that person is as disgusting as a puppymiller.

How you house your dogs has nothing to do with ethics? Phew, guess I can go right on ahead and lock these guys in the basement for the rest of their lives! That sounds totally ethical, right?

I find the word ethical and housing like this to be so bizarre i looked it up..ethics..Pertaining to right or wrong in CONDUCT was the long and short of it. IMO wire runs over dirt is as wrong as it can be. Runs so small as to not allow proper exercise for even the smallest dog certainly not healthy. Wire floors that small feet and small toes are not designed to walk across without doing damage to delicate tissues when they slip through is harmful to tissue, and the chance for infection high. THe dirt would do nothing but be a germ and pest factory, so there is no healthy atmosphere there for the stench would be vile. So if all of that = the conduct of how a kennel would be run, then it is very "unethical" to have a kennel built this way.

Just because some people encourage breeding as a money making business does NOT make it ethical. A good breeder will not make any money, and will breed for the love of their breed.

Sadly, puppymillers are still viewed as the "great American farmer" in the eyes of the government. Puppymill states bring in tax dollars for the government, which is why it's so hard to get them shut down. I remember reading about a law that was trying to get passed through that would no longer allow people to protest against puppymills and pet stores... it would be considered an act of terrorism. I'm not sure what happened with that, though.

And how does housing have nothing to do with ethics? Those cages are TINY, are outside in the elements, and have wired bottoms. I'd consider an environment like that to be very unethical.

Free speech is still alive and well when directed at the issue as a whole.
The purpose of the law was to protect individual entities from being singled out and harmed.

It seems it was quite ethical and people were encouraged to raise dogs as an alternative source of income as little as 35 years ago...especially in the farming community.

Now how many other things have we changed in thirty five years.

MASS BREEDING MEANS MASS DEATH !!! MASS BREEDING MEANS MASS ABUSE PLAIN AND SIMPLE

I am on my way out in an hour to clean up and put down some of this ethics. Thank you for making my day pleasant knowing it is ethical

So you can protest the act but not the creator of the act? Do i understand that right, as long as you do not use their exact name? Or target one particular store? Say you have written information you want to hand out, as long as your not on the store property, and do not name the specific store, then it is legal? Sighs...there has to be a way to educate the public in this horrendous method of breeding.

I think you're right, Smkie. I believe that we still have the right to protest but we can not use media (like billboards, etc) and the name of the enterprise.
