Rottiegirl - You either believe and have faith or you don't. I do. You don't. That's the difference. If you don't want to believe in God then don't. No one is forcing you to. But don't put down and make it a joke for those of us that do believe.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell.
On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
I didn't see any jokes or her putting us down? She even stated she does believe in God.

Like I said before. Hell is a scare tactic and nothing more. And it obviously works.

Everyone is judged. We will all get to see the real truth once we die, but until then we will always have our doubts about this or that.

I believe in heaven, and I believe god is not as cruel to send people onto a firey pit for eternity just because they grew up with different beliefs or because they made the split second mistake of commiting suicide because their problems were too much to bare. These people get second chances. Or even third chances and so on.

I dont think god gives up on anyone.

I dont believe in karma. Life was meant to be unfair.

I do believe in reincarnation.
So you do not have a traditional christian belief then. Hell is in the Bible *see previous post* and the Bible is believed by the Christian faith as a whole, regardless of religion.

The alien comment was a joke. To me, it was making light of my belief system. If it wasn't, great. That's what I was referring to though.

The following quote from rottiegirl: To me it's making light of, or a joke, out of my (our) beliefs.

I am just curious as to how you believe that the bible is written in the words of god. Because you were told so?

In that case, aliens created us because I was told so. Not really, but I am just making a point.

I dont think any one religion is right or wrong. That is for the individual person to decide. There is nothing wrong with believing in something even if there is no proof.

I do know that it is easy for people to defend their religion by saying... "its written in the bible, so its true".

I have a really amazing relationship with God. :) I am a Christian, but more than that, I'm personally connected with God. I can't imagine that anyone who has seen what I have could not, logically, be very spiritual, at least. I really wish everyone could experience what I have, and that everyone had such an awakening relationship with God.

I wish that for everyone, but I find it incredibly wrong to chastise those who don't believe or to try to force that belief on anyone! So, so wrong. Honestly, what happened to "love thy nieghbor"? It isn't "love thy Christian neighbor, and berate everyone else". It hurts to see those who claim to be Godly acting so out-of-line, it is not helping *anyone*. I am literally surrounded by friends & family who are atheist/agnostic/etc, and I have really helped a lot of people by offering to talk to them whenever they feel they want to, not by arguing or threatening about hell or forcing my beliefs on them.

So, basically, please don't stoop to insults you guys. Religion is so personal & important to most people (I know it's the biggest thing in my life).

Well, I do have faith. I just have different beleifs than you. I know god is real. I do believe in him.

I am not making any jokes. I am just trying to explain how I feel. Everything I have written is how I feel. I am sorry that my feelings offend you.

Just because I dont believe in hell doesnt mean that I dont believe in god... I just have a diffenent idea of god then you.

You are so right! You rock lol. If you get up peoples back then they aren't going to want to be connected with God because they don't feel any love. You have to lead by example and start talking about God's love and stuff before you get angry at them for doing wrong. There are famous times when Jesus ate with tax collectors and let an extreme sinner wash his feet.
I do believe in hell. We are given plenty of second chances on earth. HEaven is our reward. God doesn't like hell but he can't let there be sin in heaven and if you haven't asked Jesus to wash away your sins then you will be judged sinful when you die.

That's fine. Don't believe. All you can do is hope you're right when your time comes to be judged.
Ahhh...I'm sorry Kim to choose you to quote...please don't feel attacked, you know I love you :) But this is just a perfect example of why I get annoyed when people try to "push" their faith on me. No, I don't believe in god as in the bible. I do not believe in heaven or hell. I believe that I die and that's the end of the story. So please don't try to passive aggressively tell me to hope I am right when judgment day comes...because I DO NOT believe in judgment day.

And every Christian I have met so far could not accept me not believing and just leave it at that. And I am not even going into the homosexuality debate. Hmm...isn't sex before marriage a big tabu, too?

I didnt mean to offend anyone. I was using the alien thing as a point. As a way of expressing my feelings.

That is the problem with most of todays modern Christains. We think we are better when really we are just sinners ourselves. I am sorry you have had a bad experiance.
Yes sex before marriage is a sin, we are all mixed up believing one sin to be worse than another. We need to learn to figure things out before we go out preaching.
