...And have you always believed in it?

Well I said I would never start a thread like this on Chaz for fear of it turning into a 20 page debate and then getting locked. Curiosity got the better of me however. I really hope we can just have a nice discussion about our own personal beliefs as I’m really interested in what other people believe in and I’m sure there are many others that are too. So please try to stay on topic :).

(mods if you think it's a stupid idea starting a thread like this and want to delete it please do so).

I was brought up a Christian so from being very little I have been taught to believe in God. Now that I am older and can think for myself rather than be ‘told’ what to believe by others I have different views. However I do believe that a person called Jesus did in fact exist.

I believe that there are ‘higher powers’ in this world. I don’t mean that they ‘control’ our behaviour or anything, it’s just that I believe that they have more ability and are more knowledgeable than us. In my opinion we have ‘lost our ways’ and many of us are no longer able to tune into psychic abilities as we have lost them over the years as we have become very dependant on technology. I believe everyone has the ability to tap into these sources but many don’t know how. Where as at the same time ‘naturally’ psychic people just have the ability to do so. I believe animals on the other hand haven’t lost this ability and are much more intune with their environment than us.

I believe in reincarnation. I believe each time you live a life you are learning and evolving. As far as I’m concerned a young 20yr old can in reality be ‘older’ than a 50yr old in their spirit/soul rather than actual physical body. I know people think it’s crazy as I’ve had people tell me it is but I ‘know’ I’ve been here before, I know I have an old soul.

As far as my personal opinion goes I believe in equality between all living beings. I do not think I am any better or worse than other beings. I am just apart of the earth like everything else. However I hate how much humans have hurt and damaged this planet so will do everything I can to help.

Lastly I believe in supernatural beings such as ghosts. I also believe in alternative healing techniques like Reiki.

Well thats pretty much what I believe in :D.

I believe in God, I do believe that there is a hell. I dont believe in fate, everything is predestined to happen according to God's plan. I do not believe in abortion, and believed that before I became Catholic at 16.

Lol sorry I know you were joking, I just want to see what everyone believes in. Also to see if anyone has the same beliefs as me as most people I know tend to think my beliefs are wrong according to them.

Hmm. I'll make it as short as I canl

I HOPE there's a God, but I find it hard to "just believe".

I'm starting to lean towards more supernatural beliefs as well ghosts, phsychic blah blah blha.

I think, not hope, not wish, think, that we're just here. And than we're not. We just become a part of everything when we die.

Then I think that there is a high power, not God as Christians believe but a higher power. I've been thinking about what it's plans for us were lately, and I think were way off track. But that's a whole other thread :D

I wasent raised with any kind of religon. I wasent baptised though my brother and sister were and they went to church before I was born. I have actually never been to church but for weddings and funerals and I havent ever read a bible. Just never have.

When I was 11 I was introduced to the Wiccan and Pagan beleifs and thats what I have taken on as my religon since then. I really don't talk about it because people always have the wrong idea about. I have no problems with people with other beleifs then me so they shouldn't have a problem with me. And no I don't worship satan  .

I wouldn't say I am a devot wiccan because I believe in just about everything though not really heaven or hell but I beleive in other things. And I hate when people try to "save" me  .

Okay im done :). It'll probley be ignored anyways.

I don't believe there is a God, as in what the bible says, and he loves it when we get together and worship him. I believe that there is some sort of supernatural thing out there that we are not meant to know. Something that controls all nature, and therefore the world is dying because we do not respect nature enough.

I also sort of believe in reincarnation. But I don't know yet.

My friend and I had a really interesting conversation like this a few days ago...I would share it, but I don't want anyone to be offended or anything.

I agree with this.

I've been raised a Christian, my mom is very religious. She's actually never really pushed religion on me so I kind of decided on my own to believe in this.

Kase, you know I love you. Just trying to tellyou the way I've been told

So, you agree that Jesus lived, right? Do you also agree that he was a good moral teacher?

If your answer is "yes", than I have another question. Can a liar be a good moral teacher? Jesus is the son of God. If He was a good moral teacher can He also be a liar? Or was He telling the truth?

Okay, maybe He THOUGHT he was telling the truth, but really was a lunatic? A mental disorder? Jesus sure didn't seem mentally unstable to me. He was not irrational like a mentally ill person. He was not abnormal or imbalanced. Even when His life was being threatened He held great composure under pressure.

And the last "proof" I have for you is his resurrection. There are many many things that would lead us to beleive that Jesus was, in fact, brought back to life by God himself. First would obviously be the empty tomb. Okay, so maybe the disciples stole the body? Why would they? Jesus's disciples died for their belief in Him. Men won't die for something they know wasn't true. And Jesus's disciples knew Jesus was true. Okay, so maybe the Jewish or Roman authorities stole the body. Again, why? Why would they steal the body when that would HELP people to believe that Jesus was the Son of God. And then, when people found out about the resurrection, why did the guards of the tomb(another reason why Jesus's body could not have been stolen) do everything in their power to keep it quiet?

Okay, so maybe Jesus never died. Maybe he lived. How? How could a man so badly beaten and nailed to the cross not bleed to death? What about going three days without food or water?

All this leads me to believe Jesus existed. And if He wasn't crazy.. I think He was telling the Truth. And if He was telling the Truth, than there is a God. And everything Jesus taught and did was the Truth, the Light, and He IS my Savior.

Information here can be found written even better and more clearly in the book titled Know Why You Believe by Paul E. Little

(So I realize I didn't really answer your direct question..but I tink you can guess what I believe. Lol)

That's what I kinda think about the God thing too.

If our creator wanted to be worshipped constantly why wouldn't they be here to be worshipped in person?

That's kind of my out look.. So I don't think our creator intended to be worshipped the way we look at "God".

Whatever, whoever created us, created us to do something, and since we've really messed up and I think they've abandoned us! LOL
