This really angers me. How can someone just shoot a dog like that, and then make excuses for it? How can someone who owns and loves a dog go out and kill another dog out of anger. And yes, I believe it was just that, because he could have pulled his dog off! Did he ever think that it was HIS fault for not properly restraining his dog in the first place. I just dont understand some people.

I find myself returning to this thread, thinking how horrible I would feel if this were my dog. It's heart wrenching and absolutely unbelievable.

I am so terribly sorry Miakoda. That sweet dog who was meant to be with you and your son much longer had just a tragic end. There is nothing more traumatic than what you've gone through. I hope that SOB gets everything that's coming to him and more. Bless you and I wish for peace and healing to finally come to you one day.

OMG when I was reading this thread I was thinking this sounds like something that would happen here in Louisiana and Lo and Behold it did. I tell you this is a horrible place for pet owners much less someone who owns a Pitt Bull. People in this state are out to kill these dogs. I live in what is considered an upper class neighborhood with seemingly educated people but two men on this street were talking to me and my neighbor and they said if I ever saw a Pitt Bull on this street "I'd shoot the **** thing in a minute." I am the ONLY dog owner on my huge street and three blocks over there is an elderly lady that owns a tiny Pomeranian and she used to walk it down our street everyday suddenly we stopped seeing her. One day we saw her walking the dog on the main road and we asked where she had been and she proceeded to tell us that the no good P.O.S
pig neighbor of ours threatened to kick and then shoot her dog if she came down the street with him again.
Needless to say this state treats the citizens like crap much less dog owners. I know it might sound crazy to some but I can't even begin to tell you the terrible threats I have heard people make about Pitt Bulls. If you own one in this hell hole please be careful. That guy was probably just waiting for the day he could do it. Animal cruelty is unbelievable in this state and I pray they do something to this guy but in all likely hood nothing will happen to him.
I have never owned a Pitt Bull and never will because of the rotten people who hate them. I would never want to get attached to a dog that so many despise. It is a shame I have been forced to think like this. I love all dogs and I do hate to see the Lab put down it should be that rotten no good owner that is put down.
