Well... we will see. The house search is moving better and quicker than anticipated and I'm not sure I can say no to one of these fall litters I've had my eyes on.

We shall see.

Sending vibes!

All this puppy talk is making me jealous!
I would totally love if my nextdog could be a Cobain/Rigby mash-up. Getting all the perfect traits from both of them of course. I swear, it'd be perfect. *sighs*

Lady Chesh was an impulse decision. Gimmick was somewhat of an impulse. I was pretty certain that his owner would dump him, but not sure when or if she would dump him at the clinic.

Gambit was the result of too many mojitos and some free internet access. Though I'm sure there are plenty of children who arrived at their homes the same way!

Tonight, I finally accepted in my heart that Squash is a far, far better obedience/ rally/ agility/ tricks/ whatever dog than sled/mushing dog.

Silly Alaskan.

Our county fair is small, but they always have a little for-fun dogshow. This year they're offering CGC testing, I see. It is never available here. Brooks and I have some cramming to do before September, lol

Her reactivity was about to move heaven and earth today. We keep running into the same medium-sized rowdy terrier on our block during out walks, and it hates her. That thing is spitting, snarling, and maybe Nina can pass calm dogs, but she doesn't take attitude from dogs that are completely off the hook and she ends up off the hook.

We were like...20 feet from the house so I was not about to turn all the way back up the street and hope we'd avoid them, so I decided to forge on.

Now I have complete faith in the strength of this leather leash. And there was the tangible reason I use a 2" collar. She was digging in enough that I couldn't take a step without being whirled into orbit. Don't know why they react to each other like that but obviously I'm avoiding crossing even parallel paths with that terrier from now on. Don't want any set backs.

If puppy comes in the fall does that really count as an impulse? It'd be better than getting Mia, whom I got when I had no furniture, job, and had just moved. And I found her like a week before I picked her up.

sO this would be slightly more planned...

Side note:
Mia's tail has faded from purple to hot pink. Not sure about that but she still looks cute. :/

My dog is silly. There was a leaf in her pool, so she goes and sniffs it, then gently grasps it with her teeth and firmly plops it on the ground. Afterwards, she proceeded to thrash around in her "cleaner" pool.

And now she's rooting through some old mulch, trying to find one of those pesky chipmunk critters, snorting into the mulch with gusto. I guess her failure at catching one last time has sunken into her. She keeps going at this every evening.

Kids doing it at the dog park. Fully clothed, but they might as well not have been! Do they not realize they are grinding in pee and poop!?!?!

My mind is just boggled!

I am basically counting the hours until I can go pick up my puppy. I should know next Monday-ish which one I'll be getting (input from the breeder in combo with my personal preference), but these last couple weeks is going painfully slow. I am soooooo excited. I am not looking forward to a fifteen hour car ride though..

The best dog I had, Izze wasn't planned. She was $100 dog from an ad in the paper! (The breeder turned out to be ok, he was just a simple rancher that didn't know any better about the stigma of posting an ad in the paper but still ... yikes!). She was a high energy dog from high octane working parents ... and I lived in an apartment at the time ... luckily it turned out ok lol.
