Just watched the "Funniest Compilation of Pets Rejecting Their Owners' Kisses" and wondering how I've never been bitten in the face ....I feel like I'm horrible to my dogs.

Rigby gets the worst of the anthropomorphic cuddling, but she keeps coming back and leaning in.

Today she learned to jog next to my bike up and down the street and behaved all day.

Then during training her spunk came out and a little upstart terrier tried to run at her up our lawn and she let loose the nastiest bark/squeal I've ever heard...in that moment, she was a pterodactyl.

Do you guys think "Payton" and "Kane" sound too close to one another? I passed on a few names for Payton because I thought they were too closer to Pepper (Porter and Pepper just sounded way too close) and while laying in bed Saturday morning after Auggie woke me up to go outside and pee, I started thinking Payton and Kane were too close. Pay... Kay...?

Whomp. I don't really want to wait until P isn't around to have a Kane. I may just have to deal with them being close. I'm probably going to call him Kaner more than just Kane anyway. Kaner, Payton... they don't really sound THAT close... right?

I don't think they're too close at all. My dogs all answer to nicknames as well as their own names. I think they'll figure it out and you can choose whatever names you want :)

I have a friend that has a dog named Mila and she is naming her new puppy Moola, and I think they'll figure that out too.

I don't think they're too close either.
Sure they've got the same "A" sound, but I'm sure they'll figure it out.
I mean I've got (going by nicknames with 2 of them):
Rigby
Ruby
Coby
Ozzy

So 3/4 have the "B" and all 4 have the "Y" yet I can call them all individually and they seem to get it.

I don't think they are close enough to be an issue. I had a foster named Dugal who became Duncan, Dugal and Jubel were too close for sure. Doing the meet and greet intro with them at the shelter they both responded to each others names. Dugal picked up on the new name of Duncan pretty quick, which was nice because he certainly wasn't a very bright bulb.

Am I crazy to seriously be considering 2 new dogs in the next couple years?

Being single with 4 dogs would firmly cement me into 'crazy dog lady land', wouldn't it?

Nah, I think you're fine. Dogs are pretty fast to pick up on when you aren't talking to them. Recall can be a different story sometimes (if you just call out Pay or Kay instead of full names), but I think Kane and Payton are far enough apart.

Are you getting one!?
If the breeding I think is going to happen happens... and there are boy puppies... I will have a really hard time not getting one.

I even looked a little this weekend trying to find out if there's way to get a license with the county that lets me have more than four. =P

Ultimately there will be four one way or another, if it's this one or a PaytonBaby down the road.

I don't know how people with multiple 'in training' dogs do it. I can't imagine working a full time job and dedicating sufficient time to train and trial them while still fulfilling other obligations. Maybe I'm jealous.

I miss training more than one dog in agility. And I know Summer is going to eventually retire... probably sooner rather than later. :(

So.... if Mia's tracheal issues are still ok and Summer lives to be 16 like she's supposed to.... 4 is probably going to happen.

But 2 are tiny and the other two won't be BIG per say...

Oh.. That's where I think I am.

I just have two right now... Will have a third in the next year and a half, and I do the 'crazy dog lady' conformation thing.

Is there a club?

I work full time (well, for 4 more days) and I've never had an issue with multiple dogs.

Then again, all of their ages are staggered so I've never had 6 dogs who didn't know basic obedience at one time. My oldest is almost 9 and my youngest just turned 4.

My dogs are all "pets only," although I do trick training and fun things with them. I'd like to do agility with Emma and Zara once I'm home full time and in a routine as a stay at home mom.

I'm not sure I'd ever have 6 dogs again (I think 4 or 5 will be my future max), but I've never complained or felt overwhelmed with my volume of dogs. All of mine are little, though... even Rory (35lbs) is small in comparison to most!

And in my head the two papillons have each other to hang out with and the two herders can play with each other. See? It's PERFECT!

No really, it all depends on so many factors. Next Dog is coming next year though at the latest. So three will be soon. House buying stuff is FINALLY underway!

I have absolutely no clue! Emma still acts so much like a puppy. Her and Zara are very similar, but Zara is a very serious dog.

I need to take some recent photos... I've been really bad about taking pictures lately  Zara's coat is growing out, finally!
