that is so awesome!! I am such a fool--I keep talking to Baxter and Trav about their new brother...how sad am I? :p
Psh, he's not even our dog and I've been telling the dogs all day that they're going to have a doggie visitor :D
If it's sad or strange then count me in as well! I tell the dogs all the time that Marty is their little brother! hahahaha

I think it's sweet :)

Well, we have him. He really is a very nice dog. :)He reacted well to our dogs and the cats. He didn't even try to chase the cats. Neither cat liked him and they were hissing, but he didn't mind. He was running around in the backyard chasing our Pug.He LOVES my fiance. He doesn't mind his food being touched. He does mark a lot. He was doing it a lot in the backyard and tried to in the house a couple of times, but we have him leashed so he hasn't been able to. Right now he's laying in our bed with us. Pictures are uploading.

I am happy for this dog but am pissed any shelter would put down a healthy young happy social dog such as Wilson.

I got pics will post need to do chores and take care of bee stings.

My hubby got the best wings and I got to help a dog what a great day thanks all.

People, I am happy that you are helping this dog get to safety, but I hope he has seen a vet...dogs from the shelter often have different illnesses, such as kennel cough, skin infections, ear infections, etc. Even if your guys are vaccinated against kennel cough, they can still catch it from another dog, the vaccination doesn't protect against all strains. I would also advise against letting the dog be too active until its confirmed that he doesn't have heartworms...if a dog has heartworms and they strain their heart it can cause damage.

Be safe everyone :).

I do understand this, and it's a risk I thought about. My dogs are vaccinated against kennel cough and if they were to catch another strain, it's treatable. My dogs go to the dog park and doggy daycare frequently, as well as stores and other places, so they are always at risk of catching something. He really does not appear to have any skin or ear infections. He seems pretty healthy. I know I'm not a vet, so obviously I can't be sure. He ran around in the backyard for a little bit when he first arrived, but since then he's been in my room with us and my dogs are in their crate.

From his pic he looks to be in good condition, but WV and VA have a very bad heartworm problem, so I would still be concerned about that until he's tested negative. Heartworms are quite expensive to treat, so I will send prayers that he doesn't have them. You guys are great for helping him out. :)

prayers are good--that is the one thing I would be most worried about. Vet apt. will be scheduled when he arrives here. Thanks for the info sweet.

I just got home :D

And boy do I miss Wilson already. What a sweetie! The further away I got, the more I wished I brought him home with me :) But it's not a good time for us to have another dog YET. Maybe if Bax ever gets tired of him..... ;) But I'm really just glad we were able to save such a sweet boy.

Ok going to the pictures thread now!!!

ok--so I just re-read this whole thread...and can't believe that almost a week ago this boy was going to be euthanized. He is sleeping next to me, he is a sweet and social dog. What a shame it would have been if he had been put down.
BIG THANKS TO ALL THE CHAZZERS WHO HELPED BRING WILSON HOME! :D:hail:
