I lived in VA for 12 days when I first came to the U.S. in Winter 1990. That was wayyyyy too cold for us to handle, specially when we came from a tropical country where it was always hot and humid, so we moved to CA, and never think about going anywhere else.

Heres a map for your benefit! lol. Although you can't really see the Australian Capital Territory in this one, its pretty much just the land around Canberra.

I was born in New South Whales, moved to Queensland when I was 10. A year later we moved to the Northern Territory (Territory population of 200,000, THAT is sparse)
Then 2.5 years ago I moved back to Queensland and in 6 days time I am heading back to the Northern Territory.

I really want to do a drive around Australia and see everywhere, I love this country and how varied it all is.

Iowa. My entire life, and probably the rest of my life.

I lived with my parents until I went to college. That was in northwest Iowa, then I moved to central Iowa for college. Then I graduated from college and moved to Des Moines, lived in an apartment. Then I got married, bought a house and moved to a town of 5,000 just 10 min outside the city.

I've visited quite a few states, and if I lived in a magical world where a Nationwide office was also located, I would move to either TN, WY, or MT. There's something about hills and mountains covered with trees and towns founded in the early 1800's that really, really speaks to me.

Lived in Georgia my whole life (except when I lived in Germany for almost 3 years).
Lived in southern part, middle part, and northern part. So i've lived everywhere in this **** state and its all.the.same.
I cannot wait to move somewhere else. I prefer Texas or North/South Dakota if I must choose somewhere in the US.

Washington state, born and raised here, and I'll probably live here the rest of my life. I was raising in wheat farming coutry, and I still feel like I'm home anytime I can see fields as far as the eye can see :) We live in eastern WA now, in a little 3 bedroom house in a quiet neighborhood in a little town. And I have a lovely fenced backyard :)

Alaska, California.

I can't say I really remember Alaska, but we lived there for about a year, and since I go back a ton, I'd imagine that I wouldn't like to live there that much. I loveeeeee love loveee Alaska, but I'd not like to live there all the time...

Cali, I love. I love it a lot and don't see myself moving from it. I love that you can have snow and sun in the same state. I like that you have no tornados or hurricanes, and just earthquakes. The beaches are sorta pretty ugly, but I will never see myself living in a state without the coast. I like the people, I love L.A even though everyone complains about the drivers and the traffic. I don't mind the fact that there are snobs.
I love that in Cali, there are tons of things to do. We have Wild Animal Park, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Lego Land, Disney Land, piers and boardwalks, Aquariums, etc etc...We have Lake Tahoe which is suppost to be awesome and we have Monterey which is just lovely, and Big Bear for the skiiers and snowboarders...
I really like it here.

I've lived in Illinois. The living situation there was we lived in a nice neighborhood with a small yard, no fences, very close to town.

I've lived in Washington. In quite a few different living situations. From the middle of nowhere on 5 acres, to a tiny apartment in the middle of town.

Texas and OK. I love both states. (There I said it) I'm in denial about how much I love OK though.

Texas is so big it should really be split up into several areas. I will never live in the Houston area again. Way way way too hot and humid. Texas I love because well... it's Texas. :p I have 9 generations of family that's lived there. It's in my blood and it'll always be 'home'. There's so much variation and a lot more to do than there is here.

I love Oklahoma though. It's a lot more laid back and land is cheap and plentiful. The people here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We have much more space here and the climate is better imo. It snows some in the winter and the summers are very hot. The heat is dry though so much much nicer than Houston. Oklahoma is one of those places that you'd expect to hate until you've lived there.

I could totally see myself living somewhere else though. I'd not mind moving up to the northwest. Someplace slightly colder that still had a lot of land and a laid back atmosphere. I am not a city person, I've discovered.

I lived in Rhode Island for 8 years and in Philly (Near Harverford College) for a year. =) Other than that, I lived in Frankfurt before I moved to the states and am now back near Frankfurt, Germany.

I would move back to CA in a heartbeat if given the chance tho. Sadly I cannot afford the property I would need to house my Zoo, lol.

Maryland, Iowa, Minnesota, and now Georgia. Maryland is the one I've spent the most time in, and by far the one I've liked the most. Eventually I'll end up back there. Georgia would be pretty nice if it weren't for the extreme heat coupled with the extreme humidity. (Although a pool does help in that matter. :p) I still feel pretty at home down here. It's not quite as hilly, but it's still pretty dense with trees and rather rural as Maryland is.
