We met a lady who came to us after hearing about the fire, she is without a doubt a BYB,and our heads are not in the right place... She offered us a pair of pups to help us heal and had them with her.... We simply were emotionally unable to refuse.... I KNOW it's wrong, even though we didn't buy them, I KNOW... But we're so lonely..

Moose and Rodney are staying with the kids and were all alone, nights are terrible...

I can't lie and say they were some kind of rehome even though I was tempted because I am worried everyone here will hate me for supporting a BYB

So I'm getting it out of the way, we did a bad thing, but we just couldn't help it...

No judging here! AT ALL. Those pups are obviously going to have a great home! And they are *cute*. I'm happy that you can have a little bit of happiness throughout all of your pain.

They are Chihuahua, and are 10 weeks old.. The longer coated pup is a girl, the shorter a boy... I slept the best last night I've slept since the fire...

The boy we let Lauren (8yr old) name, that's a story I'll share when I'm able... He's named Papi... My hubby wants to name the female Sophie...

The lady who had them is a friend of a co worker and said she'd wanted to help us heal, I don't think she "breeds" often but don't doubt she has a litter here and there and is a BYB...

If she'd not shown up pups in hand my brain would've won out... But holding them was just too much...

Sounds to me like somebody showed you great kindness. I can't really judge you or her for that. You are certainly due a great show of kindness.

They are quite cute, I hope they can help ease your pain and help you start to heal.

They're adorable and I'm sure you're a far better home than they probably would have ended up with. I like the name Sophie too! Papi is such a good name for male Chi's though it does make me think of an older dog.

Have fun with them, let them help your heart heal.

They are almost painfully cute, and I am glad to hear they are bringing you comfort already. If anyone gives you crap about anything, you send them here. We have your back.

Now. More pictures! Daily!

They are adorable and after what you have gone through, nobody in the right mind would judge you for any comfort you need.

They are beautiful puppies and are lucky to have found a great family.

This.

Besides, it's not supporting a BYB unless money is exchanged, IMO. You are going to give them a far better home than nearly anywhere else - they are lucky. They will be loved and cherished with you.

Definitely agree with this post. You did not support them.

I'm glad you have two little ones to help you heal.

Exactly what Nolu and everyone else have said. Anyone who judges you for giving these pups a beautiful home has no business opening their mouth. ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))

I do not think that after all your heartache anyone can judge you for wanting to have a bit of loving, puppy cuddles to help you heal.

I think the woman was being kind and I do not think that anything else matters in this case.

They babies a very sweet :) Hug them close and let the puppy smell help you feel better.

They are absolutely precious! I'm so glad that they have brought you happiness. <333
Plus, I'm always happy to have more chihuahuas on Chaz. :D

Anyone who insists they would have done differently can't really judge that unless they've been through what you have. So just ignore it if you get any crap.

Exactly this. And holy crap, how can a dog be that adorable?! <3 As long as you're happy with them and they're well taken care of (and of course they will be), then I don't see anything wrong with this at all. You didn't "support a BYB." You didn't ask for the puppies, or pay for them. Someone gave them to you, as a gift, to help you heal.
