Poor shelties were feeling left out. (And I've had several people ask, particularly for Trey)

First, my favorite picture of the day:

I think that face speaks for itself....

Nik insisted on making faces after that:

You have such a gorgeous group! That first picture of Nikki is beautiful - such a pretty girl. And I can't say enough how much I adore Summer. She's so pretty and looks like quite the character. :)

Oh, I love them all, but specially the ones of Nik . . . . Don't tell the others, but she's my favorite ;)

Trey has such a different face for a Sheltie . . . most Shelties have soft expressions; Trey looks directly AT you.

I get a kick out of how different Rose and Summer are. Beau is kind of the liaison between the two of them.

Nikki says thank you for the compliment. :)

All I can really say about Trey is he's an interesting boy. He really is different than most shelties. Personality on the two shelties is totally different. If you were ever to meet the dogs in real life, Summer has the most intense gaze of them all.

The papillons all look different- the breeder told us the last time when we went to see Hiro 'Well, at least you'll never have any problems telling yours apart!'. I love that they look so different. The breed's still not nearly as standardized as many larger breeds (it's common in many toys actually to see a lot more variation). I like that they all look the same yet very different. And they all manage to look very papillon without looking identical.

I mean... Summer and Rose are sisters! They don't look a thing alike. You can kind of see the brother/sister relation with Beau and Rose. But to me if any look pretty closely related, it's Beau and Summer, but they're hardly related at all!

^SO belongs in a calendar or blown up on a wall or something!
We're actually making a calendar. :lol-sign:

We found the papillon calendar for 2009 at the show last weekend. We get one every year. But well... my mother wasn't too thrilled with the set of pictures in it and my father suggested just making one with the dogs we know, so we're actually thinking about it and maybe giving a few as gifts to our papillon friends.

Well, I know plenty of people that have them with large dogs. Obviously they can't handle too rough of play but they're actually pretty sturdy little dogs. I would say it'd depend on the large dog and how they play with little dogs. Also would depend on how the owner supervised their dogs. There are more concerns with dogs this size than others, but it can be done. Also, a lot of people with larger dogs looking to get a papillon will opt to try to find an oversized one, which happens often.
