LOL,,so when you visit family in Canada, do you make sure to get your Timmie's fix? :) Can't say I like the ice caps, but I love flavoured shots in my coffee
OH yes... there are two things that I HAVE to do when I go back home for a visit. First is to stop at timmy's... usually more than once.

Second is to find some place and order a poutine. mmmmmmmm

:rofl1:

I heard about poutine the other day in chat. I looked it up. I love cheese curds. I want some poutine, and I want it now!!!! What an unbelievably good idea.

I like kids... well, clean and well behaved kids... and for some reason they always end up being drawn towards me. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing... haha... maybe they think I'm a kid, too. It's fine with me as long as they're not goopy or oozing any kid liquids.

But anyway, I would've tried to block the Sticky Sauce Kid as well. I couldn't imagine hugging something that was running full speed at me with gooey, dirty, food covered hands :yikes:

I just can't believe the parents could be so... rude... sending their dirty little kid to go hug you :yikes:

Nah I work with kids a lot, and some of them have a lot worse than a bit of spaghetti juice on them..... you just have to learn some swooping 'go away' tactics.

I thought I had nits (head lice) for a good 2 weeks.

I probably would not have done anything different in Fran's place.

I can't stand it when sticky, messy, rude little children come into work, and insist on touching me or the other employees or any of our stuff, and their parents let them just run helter-skelter all over the place. I'm doing my job, but I'm not a babysitter and I shouldn't have to watch your children - that's YOUR job as a parent.

We don't really have a whole lot of stuff that's breakable, aside from some dog/cat figurines, but the most common situation is when parents let their small children run up to someone's dog (I work in a pet food store) and grab it, pick it up, or the like, and then get mad when I tell them that they need to keep a closer watch on their child.

I didn't read the whole thread, I will admit. But as a parent of a youngster, those parents were really out of line and WEIRD. You probably didn't handle it the BEST, but this probably all took place in a matter of seconds and you reacted in a non-violent way. I don't think that you were out of line.

Those parents seriously weird me out. I do have Syd tell people "bye-bye," and she waves & blows a kiss. No worries about touching anybody!

I dont think the situation was handled well at all.

It was definatly not the kids fault.

And the parents sending him to you for a hug was WEIRD, but imo, wearing a brand new white dress to a Waitressing job that serves spagetti and other messy items is alot weirder to me *Shrug*

Parents need to control their kids, if they don't other people will, and it wont always be pretty. People have different boundaries and that is a good lesson to learn early.
^ This x100....

To those who think that this would be different to people on this board if it were a dog rather than a child I completely disagree. If my loose, mud covered lab was flying at someone in a nice white dress (or any clothes actually) and ALL they did was hold out a menu to block their clothing from getting dirty causing him to dun into it and stumble back, not only would I NOT be angry at the person, but I would be falling over myself apologizing and thankful that they didn't drop-kick him away....

When I was in high school, I worked in a pizza place that had us wear white shirts as uniforms, even the kitchen workers and dishwashers! Now THAT was stupid!
