When I was in high school, I worked in a pizza place that had us wear white shirts as uniforms, even the kitchen workers and dishwashers! Now THAT was stupid!
I worked at an Olive Garden. All FOH staff (host, bus boys, food runners and servers) all wore black pants, white button down collared shirts and a tie. I'd come home looking like something out of a M*A*S*H* episode with all of the splatters and spills. It comes out. Vivid/Clorox 2 works wonders.

We used this awful grease and oil in the pans that wouldn't come out of the shirts. And, we were only given 2 shirts. The owner would get all snotty because our shirts were stained and disgusting. After a year or two, he switched to dark green shirts.

Ok, this thread has me really angry.

WHY ON EARTH do people who have children think that everyone should love their kids? I have kids, and I know that they are annoying as heck, and most people can't stand it. I wouldn't send them to hug a complete stranger.

Fran, I probably would have acted the same way you did, I am NOT good with other people's kids and even if I wasn't wearing a white dress I would have been extremely uncomfortable. Gah...disgusting.

I dont think the situation was handled well at all.

It was definatly not the kids fault.

This....

people keep referring to "rude kids" this child wasn't being rude in his limited experience. It certainly wasn't his FAULT. Parents fault yes...d eal with them. But the child was actually just OBEYING his parents which is what many people WANT children to do and complain when they don't. jsut so happens the parents were misguided but the child was simply obeying their wishes. he had no ill will and certainly wasn't acting out in a rude manner in his experience.

it needs to be dealt with on the parental level... the child was only doing what was asked of him.
