Does anybody ACTUALLY think the pictures would "prove" anything? Get real. There would just be a variety of reasons why the pictures "aren't really" of OBL and PHOTOSHOPPED and blah, blah, blah.

I actually think Obama is making the right call on this one. It's not going to shut up the conspiracy theorists anyway, it's just gruesome and disrespectful to parade photos of his dead body out. For everybody who is disgusted at the partying because of his death, this one should be easy to understand.

The partying didn't bother me much, but I think the photos is the right call. Spontaneous displays of joy are one thing . . . but what people would DO with that picture . . . ugh.

I guarantee you it would end up on failblog.
EXACTLY. Look, I posted a somewhat tasteless LOLCAT about him (the playstation one) because, honestly, it made me giggle. However, I can see the same thing being made with his death photo, and that's too tasteless even for my sense of humor. And there would be worse. MUCH worse.

I still think it shows the general breeding and intelligence of a person to celebrate the death of ANYONE!

<Shrug> In 34 years of my life, this man is the only man whose death I celebrate. I don't know if that says more about me or him, but I won't apologize for it. If people's reactions are tasteless, and many of them are, it is because he made himself into the monster that hid in our closet for 10 years.

Did he? Have you ever stopped to think that America is that monster to MANY children in the middle east?

I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure. -Clarence Darrow

Heh.

I'll stick with the side that allows women to be free, independant people. The side where we are free to worship, or not, as we choose. The side that does not seek out ways to kill as many innocent civilians as possible.

Etc.

There IS right and wrong in the world.

Lilivati already answered that question for you
There are plenty of accounts of innocents being killed by US (and other no doubt) troops. Plenty. And those are just the one's we know of.

So, nope, not answered to make me feel that one side is all good, and the other is some evil devil figure out a batman movie.

What he did was utterly disgusting, I am NOT saying there has been an act worse or equal.

I'm just not dancing about thinking how brill we are and patting my flag on the back in some weird..... just weird.

Thats nice for you. Others are happy he has been removed from the human race and that doesnt make them bad, wrong, poorly bred or of lesser intelligence either.

I'm glad he is gone and that he was finally held accountable for his crimes (crimes is a key word here). If that makes me a poorly bred moron well then be afraid because i reproduced

Where did I say anything about breeding or intelligence?

I think people just need to be careful of the propaganda they choose to believe.... He wasn't made into a figure head of all that is evil for nothing. You don't honestly believe ONE man alone was behind all those things do you?

Do you really believe that?
Do I believe it? Doubtful. But I'm hopeful at the same time. I want my uncle home.

That being said, I'm kind of relieved he's gone now. At the same time, I don't really understand the drunken street partying, but people all have different ways of dealing with things. Plenty of folks in other countries have drunken street celebrations when American soldiers are killed.
