My dogs all think everyone (including other dogs) is their BFF.

Wilson is polite.. he stays on the ground and wiggles around for a minute or two then calms down. If someone sits on the floor, he goes directly for their laps and plants his butt on them (I always warn people of this) LOL. He does NOT lick most people, only people he really likes.

Sako is generally very polite too.. he'll sometimes jump up if it's someone he really likes, or if they get all excited when greeting him. But he's what I call a "polite jumper".. as in, he doesn't try to knock you down, just kind of.. places himself on you, if that makes sense. He's very wiggly too, which sometimes causes issues in the conformation ring when the judge examines him.. he's getting better though!

Piper is just.. bad. Always has been, and we've tried every training trick in the book with her, she doesn't care. Usually I keep her leashed if someone is coming over (if it's someone new), because after the first 5min., she's fine, but if we just let her go she jumps all over people. The only thing we've found that really helps is letting her greet them outside in our garage.. for some reason, she rarely tries to jump out there. Oh, and if she's at someone else's house, she rarely jumps either. She's a weird one.

The "problem" with my dogs is that most of the people that come to my house are either A. My dog friends who don't mind if they're somewhat rude or B. Eric's friends, who think it's AWESOME to let the dogs jump ALL over them. I used to get mad, but now I just laugh at them and say "Well, you asked for it!"

Golly LOVES everyone, he like most labs has to find a gift to give his long lost friend. Then he walks around them making happy grunting sounds with his gift in his mouth. That the people can't have, but must ohh and ahhh over so he can wiggle and grunt more for them.

Ender is a but more careful and waits to see how Golly feels about people if their together. If he's out alone with me, he gives everyone the once over and then likes them anyway.

They both do lots of jumping on people. But if the person is going to get them going then I'm not going to tell my dogs not to jump on them.

Sloan avoids people. They're dirty, rude, and annoying. Backup jumps and hugs. Arnold wiggle butts and snarl smiles if he really likes someone, if not its just a wiggle. Shamoo flings herself up into a hug and bites their arms like a maniac. I rarely work on proper stranger greetings with my dogs which is ironic because that's one of the main things I train with client dogs.

My dogs are NOT polite and they have no manners lol. So they run all over the house whipping everyone with their wagging tails... try to see if they can get away with jumping up or not... they bark... they are excitable. they are a pain in the arse lol

At the house, Chloe will bark and bounce and be annoying until she can greet said person - then she barrels at them full speed, wiggles her butt, jumps up a few times, gets some sniffs in, then she may sit for petting.

In public, she's become increasingly disinterested with just random strangers petting her. She has no problem getting pets, she just doesn't crave it anymore. But, if she likes the person, she'll get excited, possibly jump, and typically just dance around.

At the house, Rose will bark with her hackles up, then go up to sniff the person (hackles still up). After that, she ignores them. In public, she just ignores everyone.

Cora is torn between wanting to jump up all over the person and lay on the floor showing her belly because she is Submissive Dog. So the end result is a weird flailing where she kind of rolls around on the ground while you try to pet her.

When we're out and about but working/minding our business, Quinn will look at people and put her ears back but knows not to run over. If they're kids she'll wag her tail a bit. If they make eye contact/talk to her/call her over she doesn't hesitate to approach them for attention - she gets wiggly and puts her ears back and smiles. She's very friendly. Kids she goes crazy for and will lick their faces, which she doesn't do to just anyone. If it's someone she knows Quinn will arch her back and weave in and out of their legs like a cat, will put her front paws up if invited and will lick certain peoples' faces if they let her.

People that she knows, she greets with soooo much enthusiasm. Wriggling and tail thrashing and jumping around.

Usually she doesn't greet people when she's working. If she does, it's brief and she returns to me when I call her to my side. She's usually very friendly and would stay and get to know polite new people for quite a while if I stuck around with her.

If someone's rowdy or talks in a super squeaky voice, she usually gets overwhelmed by them and chooses to sit near me and "talk" to the people with little grunts and whines.

Eve greets polite children with the most genuine warmth. If she gets a hug, the corners of her mouth pull into a smile and she'll close her eyes and sigh.

Frodo completely ignores most people at this point when we are out and about. Which is way more awesome than the barking, growling little beasty that he was a year and a half ago!

If he doesn't ignore them he will run up and muzzle bump them to see if it'll get him some treats from me. If it does then he progresses to standing on their feet, sitting on their feet, woofing at them to pet him (this is my favorite, he's pretty much saying "Pet me you idiot, or she won't give me treats!"), etc. Even though he has no real interest in being pet by them, he's just playing the game.

In more social situations (people coming to my house or going over to a friends house with him), he has taken to plopping himself in random people's laps. Mainly men.

He has come so, so far in regard to his people issues, it makes me so proud!

They come near the door, yapping and wagging. Jose`gives a quick greeting, then disappears for a moment, returns with a ball or other toy in his mouth to show the person. He struts and holds his head up, as if to say, "look what I've got!" Chulita just yaps and then stops and sort of prances around. If the person bends down to pat her, he or she will get licked and two tiny front feet will probably come up on the knee of the person.

Ummm in the house she walks up, sniffs them, then walks away bored :p. she always stays within sight though, to make sure her children are safe. Unless its my boyfriend, she won't even get off the couch for him :p

Outside she'll ignore people unless they want to say hi to her, then She's all for some loving.

If he knows you he foot dances in front of you until you pet him then he sits down.

If he doesn't know you he is not interested in having anything to do with you unless i tell him to "go say hi!" then he acts like you totally just magically appeared and will slither around you like a cat.

Oh one thing I noticed with Lugar, is that he can tell when people aren't "crazy" about dogs (the people that like dogs but could do without) so he feels the need to CONSTANTLY pester them for a butt scratch. As if he's trying to change their mind...

Radar If we are on a walk pretty well ignores most people now. He was very fearful when we first brought him home and it has taken an immense amount of work to get him there. He used to scream and try to climb me. If I stop to talk to someone he will now slowly walk up to them wiggle his tail and sit for a pet if he decides he likes them, and then return to my side. In the house he walks up gives a quick sniff gets a pat and then wanders off. Unless of course it is someone he already knows then they get kisses and he demands a tummy rub.

Duke pretty well throws himself at everyone screaming PET MEEEEEE!!!! and wagging his tail. He loves every animal vegetable and mineral he meets.:lol-sign:

Mammoth (GSD) has an aversion to all people that are not me. Occasionally, he will approach strangers to check if they are me before he gives a few deep barks and lumbers off to sulk in a corner.

Mac (Catahoula) is a kiss-on-the-first-date kind of dog. While he is very protective of his people, he loves the excitement that comes along with visitors. He gets to sit outside while everyone else says hello, however. He's not particularly aware of the rules of personal space.

Bug (Coton de Tulear) is really just disdainful of anyone that doesn't feed him immediately.

Both of my two are terrible at it.
Buster likes to go the "I'm super intimidating, please remember that" route. Usually he wants to circle them or jump up and stare them in the face before he settles and solicites free pats for the rest of their visit.

Quinn used to be pretty good until the whole Harry incident when she was 5 months old. Now she's very very nervous of visitors. If they even look at her or acknowledge her she turns into this barking maniac that looks like she wants to have a go at them. She takes a LONG time to come around to.

We have so few visitors (maybe 2 or 3 a year) that its hard to put any real work into. I think once I move out and have friends over more I'll have the op. to work on them both more but for now I usually just put them away when people come over and then let them out to be ignored once everything has settled.

Zander (Sibe) likes the ninja approach. He'll sneak around the house, hiding behind walls, spying on the new person until he thinks it's a good idea to run up wagging his tail and acting goofy. Or, if he already knows the person, he'll get the goofy out and then lay down at their feet.

The other dogs typically barked and just went nuts. OMG OMG new person! LOOOVEE MEEEEE. Lack of training, unfortunately. I could never get it across to my mom that a pack of 5 - two mastiffs, two terrier/lab mixes, and one GSD mix...well, that isn't a thing MOST people like walking into. Or rather, being attacked by.

Meg adores everyone, and will happily go up to any person. She usually flips herself around so her butt is up against their legs, and waits for petting. If they don't pet fast enough, she rubs herself up and down on their legs.

Gusto likes everyone, and is squiggly and sweet when meeting people in the house (and sometimes tries to sit on their faces). Out and about, he has little interest in greeting people. He tends to actively move away to keep facing me, although he doesn't react if people reach out to pet him. He's just not interested.

His few favored people get full body wiggles, screaming, and jumping. And maybe a bit of pee.

Todd wags and waits, if they go towards him, he goes to them for rubbings. If they don't, he doesn't. He's very polite :D

Lucy dances, spins in circles, wags etc. If its my Dad, she jumps up for a bit of nose to nose!

Katy is still at that uncontrolably excited period, its so annoying. She springs, leaps, bounces etc. Everything that annoys people basically! (We are working on it though).
