I'm still trying to figure out where you came up with that one . . . that's basic elementary school health classes and after doing a search going back a couple of years I didn't come up with a post of mine concerning beta carotene that even YOU could misinterpret that badly . . .
See the multi-vitamin thread. Read the link that you posted.
But, that being said, you need to stop being so disingenuous about your concerns for health care.
You've made it abundantly clear that some day you hope to be a real MD rather than just playing one on the internet.
Examined through THAT glass, your interest would appear to have more to do with your future earning potential . . . .
Your interpretation of a methodology for "fixing" health care sounds suspiciously like the same argument we heard for trickle down economics. And THAT worked SO well over the long haul . . .
Do I actually try to play an M.D. on the internet? Believe it or not, I actually have some level of education and I speak from that. It's not "playing" anything on the internet--it's just having an informed outlook.
I make no qualms about it--I look forward to making $300k/year (and more). However, I don't base my suggestions for health care policy on that at all. It seems like the only people that are really complaining about physician compensation are the socialists that think stealing from one group of people to even the playing field (i.e., "universal healthcare") is reasonable.
Before you start making personal attacks, try to address the original post and intent of the thread. I posted regarding the possibility of free market medicine. In my opinion, it is a decent model and it is currently working elsewhere in the world:
The Institute provides patient care at a ratio of 1:1 non-paying to paying patients through fee cross-subsidization. The Institute uses a combination of financial modalities, including donations, grants and fees to administer its non-patient care programs

It's not that hard. All you have to do is read some real facts instead of listening to CNN all day. Come on, you can do it!
(For the record, I've never supported trickle down economics. That goes against everything I stand for--I work hard to reap the benefits. Why should my benefits trickle down so other people can feed off of them?)
